TAMAS PRISKIN?

Fri Sep 16, 2011 3:07 pm

Looking for a move from Ipswich, he's been told he can leave, would you have him here? Type of player we're lacking.

Tall striker, good in the air, good with his feet, etc.

Also worked with Malky at Watford, but only for 2 months

Pretty poor at the Jacks.

Tall striker, good in the air, good with his feet is the type of striker we're missing? Gestede would like a word with you...

Tamas Priskin actually played for Watford during the 2006 / 2007 season when they were a PL team and the playing squad included Malky Mackay.

He was sold by Watford 2 months after Malkay Mackay took over from Brenden Rodgers as manager to Ipswich for £1.7m, probably an offer Watford could not refuse. In my opinion this is just the type of player the squad needs to give MM another forward option we all know we need.

How often do you get a 24 year old international player for free, no brainer as far as I'm concerned but MM will obviously know him as well as anyone.

Watch this space I think. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I don't understand that just because someone is a International player then he must be better than what we've got. Hungary aren't the force which they were and because of that their players aren't of the best standard.

People seem to think that because a player is an International then he must be good. Well with that mentality then if the club buyers the whole of the Mali team then Premier League her we come!!!

Just my opinion or mentality as you describe it but Tamas has played 58 International matches for Hungary by the age of 24, he has also be been transferred twice for fees over £1m so someone thinks he has something about him.

Also Watford signed him when they were a Premier League team for over £1m and by the time he was sold Watford had to sell him because they needed to reduce their wage bill and he was in the last year of his contract. Watford had sold all their other PL players except Tommy Smith who followed him out of Vicarage Road a few weeks later.

The most telling thing in his Priskin transfer to Ipswich is that despite receiving £1.7m Watford insisted on a 30% sell on clause as they fully expected him to be signed by another PL team, they thought that highly of him.

Because Watford ran out of money and were in freefall doesn't make Tamas Priskin a bad player or lower championship player as you mentioned earlier in the thread.

As I saif how often do you get a chance to sign an experienced international player, who has moved for over £3m in transfer fees for nothing. Be it a Hungarian or Mali how often do you get that chance :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Didn't mean it like that  We could do with another big man with abit of skill/flare is what I was trying to say, imo Rudy and Priskin are different types of players anyway, Rudy is more physical and Priskin has more flare about him.

Your absolutely right even on a free transfer he wouldn't be worth it. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

This was a tweet I had about Tamas Priskin from an Ipswich fan earlier

@underthesun666 Liam
@Adam85James Trust me you wont want him! absolute waster! doesn't run, doesn't care, doesn't try.. worst player we've had since kevin lisbie

Seems like he's either completely useless & very lazy or just doesn't work like Jewell and is forcing a move. Seems a good option to loan him until January and see what he can do with a possible agreement for a full-time transfer if he forces his way into the side and looks as good as his reputation/international caps show.

Probably. Or Mackay wanted rid.

The 24 year old international stirker went from 1.7m to errm free. That's kinda telling.

Priskin was in the last year of his contract at Watford and had told the club he wouldn't be signing a new one, he has scored 12 goals in 25 matches in a struggling team the season before but with Watford not havinf a pot to piss in they took the £1.7m and a 30% sell on clause.

I say watch this space because MM was coach to Brenden Rodgers when he had his best scoring run at Watford so he should know the player. If MM thinks there is anything about him surely he wouldn't turn his nose up when the player comes on a free.

And he did what with Swansea? Indeed, plenty there felt his injury was a blessing as he was hardly an upgrade over Moore or Beattie...

Well with 1 goal from a total of 97 minutes on the pitch for the Jacks from 4 substitute appearances he was a huge improvement over Moore and Beattie who are both needed more than 350 minutes on the pitch for each goal they scored.

In fact that statistic placed him above Scott Sinclair who took 204 minutes for each goal he scored, a lot higher if you take away his penatly kicks.

Priskin is a young player who I accept has seen his stock reduce because of a few poor seasons but he is only 24, Jay Bothroyd was 26 when he arrived at Cardiff City again as a player who had a number of poor seasons and many were doubting him but he turned out OK.

Priskin could be the same. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Did you actually see Priskin's goal? Comedy of errors by the defence. Stunned that the minutes per goal for a striker was less than that of a winger. That'll revolutionise football.

Bo0throyd has always had the talent, the problem has been the mental maturity hasn't been there. Priskin just isn't good enough...

My missus is a tractor girl and is glad he's going...........that says it all really.
Blows hot and cold and dips in and out of form like a rollercoaster she says.
And gotta admit from his performances down here....no thanks

I did see his goal 94th minute effort against Norwich but I didn't realise that goals that result from defensive errors don't count. Hmm.

What about the 7 goals he scored for Ipswich last season I admit I'm not sure how many resulted from defensive errors but again not bad for a player mainly used as a sub.

Sinclair was without doubt the Jacks biggest forward threat last season, but did he really play as a winger, come to that did Dyer play as a winger. I agree both players made the pitch as wide as possible in the middle 3rd of the pitch but in the last 3rd were they more likely to come inside than go outside the fullbacks ? The width in the last 3rd always came from the fullbacks with the Jacks.

Look Nerd you don't think Priskin is good enough, fine thats your opinion, but I think he is and is certainly better than either Parkin or Gestade at this moment and on that basis is worth considering.

If we are to revolutionise anything how about do it to the way we debate, leave the sarcastic stuff out and debate on merits.

If he's playing well or not, surely he's got to be worth loaning until January! See how he does, if he does well we sign him permanently, if he doesn't we look elsewhere in Janurary.

If not Priskin maybe Rob Hulse is worth going for?
