for all you wanting prem footy

Fri Sep 16, 2011 12:51 pm

For years I have dreamed of being were we are,and thought id never see it.
But now we are ther its all bollox, the fans are treated like shit and the prem is all glory and no real grass roots or passion.
Its hard for you to understand as its your dream to get here but when you do you to will feel the same, the hard core passionate fans that is not the fecking plastic prics who just sit like lemmings,,I don't mind if we come down to be honest as the prem is not for the real fans,of working class familys.unlike the old first division. .

You've played 4 matches there, two of which you've lost against 2 of the best teams in the country. Everyone knew you would struggle. Stoke manage to Trott along quite nicely with their fans. Football should be about fun and enjoyment, but at all times in the back of your head, it should be about Glory. If you don't want glory, then why bother turning up. You've got owners at your club who like to penny pinch and make money from nothing.

It's their fault if you fail, not the managers or players. I really think, Cardiff City would be more suited to Premier League football than Swansea City due to the ambition the fans have, and that's not a dig at you. If we went up, I know 50% of fans would want a top 10 finish, the other 50% would want top 4. That's the ambition our fans have. We all know we would be fighting relegation within our first season and possibly second if we ever got there, but we live for excitement. Enjoy your self while your there and aim for the highest high, because you never know when you may get there again.

Shame to hear it tbh,
Everyone wants a slice of the premiership pie!!
I would LOVE for City to get there but it's staying there is the issue.

Good luck for your next few games but as someone said in another thread---no ambition from your board which already means your struggling,
And it's fans like you and countless others that get pissed on and hopes shattered

Ffs sake Swansealad, enjoy it while you can, especially the away games. Would swap places with you any day.

Make the most of it and try to visit as many places as you can, cos this time next year you will be going to Doncaster and Bristol City. (or maybe that will be the year after!)

Its what I fear.

I long for us to get to the premier but I di feel it will be a big disappointed when we get there. Really hope I'm wrong.

I've spoke to Stoke and Birmingham fans who say the same.

As negative as it sounds, I love the Championship. Of course I always want us to achieve the dream of reaching the Premiership but at the same time it comes with quite a few negatives, fewer Saturday games, more expensive and less games in general. Yes there are the advantages of visits to the biggest and best in England, the revenue and prestige but when I started watching City we were getting 3000 crowds in Division 4 and my dream was to see us in Division 2, I never contemplated we may be rubbing shoulders with the Liverpools and Arsenals. The Championship always has half of the division competing for promotion up until the last few weeks of the season where as the Premiership is only ever contested between half a dozen teams.

Its not about us struggleing,as I ain't seen a game were we have yet bar the second half at city, its about the whole set up,,the costing out of the real football fans,to go away to watch them you need to buy a jackarmy membership,at 20squid and if you have a boy that's 40 and you pick what games you want to go and your names go in a hat,so you ain't garranteed a place and could get one for you but not for your boy,yet me and my lad have been to many of the shit teams, and now ther is the glamour clubs we can't get a sniff, trust me lads if you get ther you will feel the same, the prem as one of you said is simply money, its bollox lads

What the fook are you on about? Names don't go in a hat at all. Fans pick up loyalty points from the games they attend and at present those loyalty points haven't kicked in so when away tickets go on sale, all JackArmy members (which is £10 not £20 as you said) have the chance to go online and purchase them. You can also link accounts with your son so you buy tickets sat together.

So how is it you're not getting a sniff ffs? Man City didn't even fully sell out so you could have gone there if you wanted no problem at all

As for "I don't mind if we come down to be honest" Get a fooking grip is it.

it is a fact that many fans that used to follow the likes of chelsea and spurs etc. in the 80's and 90's have been priced out of going to watch their teams regulary, but i would love us us to get there just to experienced it for ourselves

Re: for all you wanting prem footy

Fri Sep 16, 2011 8:58 pm

considering we have had a few attempts to get there but if we do get there we will relish it like no other team because how hard work should be payed off by being in the prem and i think we will do whatever it takes!

You do realise you have picked up a few glory hunters who got season tickets :!:

We have 20,000+ fans who still turn up to watch us so i think it will be different with us!

You just had a rough start to be honest if you saw loads of goals like Blackpool fans did then it would be a different story!
