Sounds like it's your battery mate!

Try charging it with a spare or friend's battery!

If it charges, your old battery is goosed and if it doesn't then it's most likely your charging cable!

Try eBay for a replacement battery or cable, if needed! :ayatollah:

To be honest mate, I've never taken mine out, but a simple Google gives you the answer and shows that there are many iphone users out there, who have had similar problems! :ayatollah:

Having done a bit more research, the following post, indicates that it may be down to a software problem, so it may be worth trying these instructions, before the battery test:-

Cheers Overthemoon

Mine wont turn on at all though so going to try buying a new battery and repair kit which is only £4ish on EBay, and if that fails then i havnt lost anything

Due and upgrade in a couple of weeks so not overly bothered but am hoping to fix it so i can send it to envirphone and get some cash for it

Got no chance of replacing battery yourself as they are internally built. It's unlikely to be a software update needed. 1 year warranty on an iPhone, if you ring you Network provider.

The batteries are replaceable - just need the correct tools to dismantle. (which I have!)

Before purchasing a new battery (£13) eBay I got mine, try these things...

1. A different USB cable (genuine If possible)
2. A different charger plug
3. Update to the latest firmware by connecting to iTunes (however this may not work if computer can not recognise enough battery power!)

4 - buy a new battery! (give to trusted person to install) if this does not work then you have a damaged/broken connecting cradle port. (which is repairable also-but not sure if cost on that one!)

id be too scared to replace them, the screws may be tamper proof, not sure?? If they are and then the phone goes bust and they check it, the insurance/warranty becomes void. Although id get a replacement anyhow cos im a right dodgy fooker who works in the right place.
