To make him sound better than he actually is. Have a feeling we'll sign him, only due to the owners, but he wont feature much.

I'm sure Malky will sign him up if he is good enough. However i think it is more of a publicity stunt by TG/VT to raise our profile in Malaysia. Coincidentally Matt Holland (our mascot organiser etc) has apparantly just moved out to Malaysia to work for the club.

size doesnt matter..as long as he can play..why not.as far as i know even in the training he scored a lot..the problem is his work permit..why they call him for 2 weeks if they cant sign him in..even if it was for publicity, it was way too cruel..he may be tried his best during the training for nothing..he is a good player with nice goal..

Your right, size doesnt count. It WAS a calculated marketing ploy to get him
here. Good idea too, but perhaps he just didnt impress enough and they
decided not to pursue it further. Sad but probably true

its already very public that a work permit would be near impossible so he wont be signing.

it is just a publicity stunt in malaysia

If football fans in malysia hadn't heard of Cardiff City - they have now! As this man is a football icon over there! So indeed it was all about spreading the name of the club.

hmm.....as he is being the item for others publicity..anyways he's been asked by a bundesliga club weeks ago..maybe this publicity can make it easier for him to go there..his talent will not improve if he stays in malaysian and indonesian club..hope he will get it somewhere that can help him improve..

So do we. It would be mutually beneficial for him to come to Cardiff and succeed.

A) because obviously, if he succeeds, it means he's scoring goals for us

B) because it would give Cardiff City a higher profile in Malaysia, marketing opportunities
would soar, and obviously his game would improve, and encourage more Malaysian kids
to play football

The trouble is his age mate, he's no spring chicken, no youngster.

I wish him well

AH yes, the Bundesliga club.

Unnamed.

And the source of that rumour? The player himself. Claiming he was told they'd give him a contract... which obviously hasn't as yet happened.

Listening to Malky on Cardiff Player and reading between the lines, it seems Malky is either not that keen on the Malaysian David Beckham or don't want to give too much away.

I somehow think it's the former. :?: :?:

Uncle Fester, Malky never asked for him or saw him play before he came over here, he was given him.

Cant hurt giving him a trial, sounds like it more about business than anything but nothing wrong with that at all.

Ah right, that's the reason behind the "uncomfortable" answers from Malky. :D :D

"Stupid" work permit?

Oh dear.

Of course, his manager is an unbiased source, eh? Still, at least he's got this unnamed German side who were offering a contract. If they actually exist.

The thing is the so called 'Malaysian David Beckham' has scored many goals. He's playing in a league with a very low standard of football so we will see what he's like in this league
