" Down the Vale today. "

Tue Sep 13, 2011 5:30 pm

Thought I would share what I saw down the Vale today, nothing dramatic just an insight to the new regime.

At about 2-30 half the squad were in the weight room doing squats, one leg lunges, curls, calf lifts etc. They were all working to individual set plans which they carried around. There was very little messing about and everyone seemed determined to work hard. (I saw Whitts, Gunnarsson, Earnie, Marshall, Kiss, Cowie, Gestad, Blake and I cant remember who else! But no Parkin or Gypes for what its worth.)

In the whole time of the old management, I never saw the players in the gym in the afternoon, I never saw them with lists, and I never saw them train with such intensity. Im not saying that they never did, Im just saying that I never saw it. (but it is my 2nd home!)

Also a small point but whenever they used to train in there, or any other sports teams for that matter, there is always a hell of a mess when they leave. But not this lot, all the weights were put back and no empty bottles were left behind. Its only a small point but I think it gives you an idea how things work.
They all then left about 3pm.

Shit also forgot to say there was an asian player with them that I hadnt seen before! He looked a strong lad and could well of been Malaysian but I dont know.
I have been going to the gym late in the afternoon the last few weeks so I cant say if this is the norm, just saying what I saw.

I have just come back from taking my son to rugby practise (dont start about rugby! ) and on the way home at 5-40pm I noticed that Malkay's car was still there.

Hope this helps.

It might seem a small thing about them clearing up, but to me it says a lot about this bunch of lads.
No trouble makers, no egos, no 'we are better than the people who work here' attitude and a bit of discipline.

I'm more inclined to get behind guys like that than prima-donna arseholes who treat the public like idiots.
