Bloody hell, just watched this film. Thought it was 'another' hooligan film with the usual moralistic tale of 'don't do it' etc. How wrong can one be. I hate to say it, cos I have never been one for rucks, but I loved it. True story too which always fascinates me. Anyone else seen it.

I thought it was a brilliant film & a country mile better than the bullshit of Green Street & Football Factory.Would'nt have wanted to be a waiter in the fast food industry when those mad bastards were on the scene though.

I thought it was shit! Seems like someone exagerating things to boost his own ego! Ok he was a bit of a lad granted' but if he was realy involved in all of that as closley as he makes out then surley he would have done a spell in jail once or twice, especialy after making a book and film about his exploits! Maybe the police dnt rate him that highly aswel lol

I quite enjoyed football factory as there wad a fair bit of over exaggerated cockney wit lol. Green street I thought was very wooden, Elijah wood? Come on. And the other main lead in it sounded like an aussie if you ask me.
Good point mr mo. I always thought these stories are told once any legal interest has dwindled or been addressed, otherwise you surely open yourself up to prosecution.

I thought Rise of the Footsoldier was ok, but it's not really a film from the football hooligan genre like Cass, Football Factory or The Firm. You really can't put it in the same category. They're films about football hooliganism whereas this is a film in which hooliganism plays a small part. It's more about the drug scene and there's no 'nod' to any kind of casual scene. But you also have to wonder how he did get away with everything he did

one of my preffered films out of the bunch...
the film currently showing on sky representing a similar story, though i thought was shit... (bound by blood) majority of actors from football factory..
