According To Joe Ledley

Mon Sep 05, 2011 8:25 am

That's where Celtic belong and that's the main reason why I made the move from Cardiff City in the first place.

Joe is talking about Celtic being reinstated into the Europa League following the explusion of Sion for fielding ineligible players.

Now ask yourself this question if Cardiff City were still in the Welsh Cup and had qualified for the Europa League do you think Joe Ledley would still be here or would he still have moved Celtic.

In my opinion Joe moved for the money and the best of luck to him but please don't try and tell us it was for the Europa League.

By the way Joe you won't be playing against the best clubs and best players not in the Europa League.

Joe didnt move for the money he was treated appallingly by the club & stitched up a 100% fact which Im sure those INK will confirm, he went to Celtic because it was the only club available to him at the time.

100% true there Rich and Ridsdale lied to us all when he told of Joe's new improved contract offer which was total bollox ..... and I dont think anybody will know for sure what happened regarding his proposed move to Stoke either ?

So if we had won the Playoff final do you think Joe would have moved to Celtic :?: The only thing that we do know is that when the club turned down a £6m offer from Stoke on the final day of the summer transfer window both Joe and his agent made it clear he would run down his contract.

Did Ridsdale actually offer him an improved contract probably not but make no mistake when his contract expired Stoke again tried to sign him but he eventually signed for Celtic who were the highest bidders.

Joe did what most people would do and that's the best for him and his family, and best of luck to him, but what is it with footballers who think that they can make such a claim as this when the truth is completely different.

A few months ago he said that any player at Cardiff City would sign for Celtic to play in the Old Firm games well both Jay and Craig had that chance this summer but both chose PL clubs. Joe preferred an SPL club and best of luck to him but was the main reason really the Europa League Hmmm :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

It wouldent surprise me that he was mistreated and thats y he wanted to leave anyway, just look at the players weve lost for the same reasons. This hopefully wont be the case anymore :)

I don't doubt he was mistreated - Ridsdale's comments about him when carrying hip problems for one thing.

Ledley can hardly be regarded as an innocent - his appearance on Soccer AM aside from making him look like the missing Dingle from Emmerdale, showed he wasn't really likely to stay.

Stoke offered 2 players for him to avoid a tribunal - then pulled out when that deal was rejected.

I'd say the stunning lack of Prem interest, Stoke aside, was telling.

He got stitched up by the club, the club he had served and loved from a child. With all respect Castleblue Id say nothing on the matter if you dont know the facts about Joe, the club had may as well stuck a knife through his heart....

Of course were all allowed an opinion and noway was I slatting you, it just annoys me when people slag off Joe when they really dont know the circumstances of his leaving whereas he was in a impossible situation. Im not explaining it but I can 100% guarantee that he's still be happily a City player today if it wernt for Ridsdale & Co, he was heart broken and let down badly by the Club.

I spoke with Jo' Dad and Bro in the casino opposite the CSS and it wasn't Dave Jones' fault, the riddler blocked any improved wage structure for Jo after he had proven himself and Celtic were the ones interested at that moment. Jo would have prefered to play for Cardiff but on a fair wage. You all know how it is when your looking for an improved wage than your current one, it only seems possible to increase it if you move

Celtic are one of the biggest clubs in the world, I would chose them over Stoke and both would have offered twice what we did.

Re: According To Joe Ledley

Of course he moved for the money  how he was treated by Cardiff is irrelevant IMO. He was a free agent and chose Celtic because they offered him the most money. Im sure if he asked for 2k a week a few prem clubs would have took a gamble on hi rather than the reported 30k of Celtic.

and what an annoying comment, "its where we belong" why do they? they got lucky someone else cheated.
