Why i KNOW there is so much more to come from Kenny Miller..

Sun Sep 04, 2011 10:20 pm

I know there's more to come from Kenny Miller, and here's why...

Take his position with Scotland...

Some of the players he is keeping out of the Scotland side is what interests me...

David Goodwillie - this is the striker who was quite clearly our first choice target this year, and yet Kenny Miller is currently judged by Craig Levein to be the better option up front for Scotland

Craig Mackail-Smith - played OUTSTANDINGLY against us for Brighton this year, worked harder than ive seen any forward work in one game in years, ran the channels, and looked like he would be perfectly suited to the lone striker role which Kenny Miller plays for Scotland - and yet Miller makes the side ahead of him.

I realise that some may say he's only making the team ahead of these because hes the more established player and their captain, but Craig Levein must believe he is the best option here and now...

And that's what Cardiff need, a player that's good enough now, he needs to be given his age and that's what i believe we have.

He showed a brief glimpse of that with his goal against West Ham, he's a natural finisher, and yes he may not have exactly hit the ground running but he's working hard, and there's more to come, i really believe that!!

If anyone watched the Scotland Czech game on tv then you'd have seen just how good he can be!! What a performance it was!! And hopefully Malky can get that out of him consistently at Cardiiff, but right now we arent creating too many chances (the Bristol game aside).

Given the right service, he could fire us into the playoffs this year, who knows!!

Kenny was superb yesterday, if only some of his team mates produced half of what he did we may have won.

It shows our formation at the moment may not be working to his strengths. Plays for Scotland as the lone striker, here he and Earnie are making too similar runs.

When Gunnarson and Kiss are 100% fit then I expect CCFC will go for a 5 man midfield with Miller playing the loan role upfront with possibly Earnie or Mason also deeper in midfield ?

Didn't see the game, but did see the Scotland goals, any one who has taken the time to look at the goals that Kenny has scored would have seen that we have got one of the best finishers in the game, the question is have we got the players who have the ability to provide him with the service he needs to get the 20 to 30 goals? that I believe he is capable of getting in this division.
We had the same problem last year, getting the best out of Bellamy, his natural ability was his pace but DJ wasted the bulk of the season because he didn't know where to play him, nor did we have the players who could thread a ball behind defenders to out strip them for pace, I still believe we need a top class central midfield general who can dictate a game and provide the service to the front runners, this is the key area I believe for attack and defence.

i agree there mate, about the 5 man midfield thing, but i wouldnt play Earnie in a deeper role personally
