Take his position with Scotland...
Some of the players he is keeping out of the Scotland side is what interests me...
David Goodwillie - this is the striker who was quite clearly our first choice target this year, and yet Kenny Miller is currently judged by Craig Levein to be the better option up front for Scotland
Craig Mackail-Smith - played OUTSTANDINGLY against us for Brighton this year, worked harder than ive seen any forward work in one game in years, ran the channels, and looked like he would be perfectly suited to the lone striker role which Kenny Miller plays for Scotland - and yet Miller makes the side ahead of him.
I realise that some may say he's only making the team ahead of these because hes the more established player and their captain, but Craig Levein must believe he is the best option here and now...
And that's what Cardiff need, a player that's good enough now, he needs to be given his age and that's what i believe we have.
He showed a brief glimpse of that with his goal against West Ham, he's a natural finisher, and yes he may not have exactly hit the ground running but he's working hard, and there's more to come, i really believe that!!
If anyone watched the Scotland Czech game on tv then you'd have seen just how good he can be!! What a performance it was!! And hopefully Malky can get that out of him consistently at Cardiiff, but right now we arent creating too many chances (the Bristol game aside).
Given the right service, he could fire us into the playoffs this year, who knows!!
