ELLIOT PARISH...

Wed Aug 31, 2011 4:02 pm

Heard he was training with us today? If so are we signing him? I think we need another keeper because we don't want what happened last year to happen again, that cost us big time!

Yes I popped along and thought that he did okay, but looks a bit lightweight!

I missed the first goal for them, so have no idea whether he was at fault or not, but he needs to be a lot more vocal!

He did seem to have quite a safe pair of hands though and comfortable for their crosses! :ayatollah:

It was difficult for all the midfield players last night, as it was very congested there and nobody seemed to get as much time on the ball, as they would have done at Championship level!

Adam Smith seemed quite comfortable there though and Del Hoyo was quite vocal, although I'm not sure about his grasp of the English language!

He seemed quite pacey though and keen to get forward into a more attacking position!

I'm a bit dubious about his ability to deal with a stream of high balls into the penalty area, which Hudson & Gerrard seemed to face last weekend, but he is comfortable with both feet and does seem capable of marshalling the defence, which is what I'd say we've been lacking for the past 2 seasons or more! :ayatollah:

Did Inigo play central defence then, only the you tube videos I have seen of him suggests he is more of a full back, got plenty of pace about him.
