I thought that was good. Having lived through the times and followed the fashions, it was pretty spot on I thought (apart from Bex wearing the whole tracksuit all the time). Attention to detail was pretty good as I even saw a Best Company ski-jacket in one of the scenes and I spent £150 on one back in 1985 when I was 16, which was a fortune at the time. The dates are slightly out though. Planning for aggro at a tournament England wouldn't qualify for for another 3 or 4 years after the film was set was a bit of an oversight

Not sure his attentiopn to detail is as good as he likes to think it is, especially with dates or timelines. All a bit hazy at times. As well as The Firm when they were in about 1984 (if the fashions are anything to go by), they were talking about the 1988 European Championships. But that fashion had long died out by the time 1988 came around. I asked him about this in Zinc Bar after the Premiere and he reckoned they made no direct reference to it but I was unconvinced by him. In The Business, all they wear is Fila, Tacchini and ellesse, but it seems that a few years went by in the film and the fashions didn't stick around as long as the film seemed to think they did. Also, I had a few of the Fila shirts when I was a young casual and he slapped a few 'bj' patches on them and, when I had them, they definitely weren't back then

Nick Loves film was based on the 1984 championshops not the 1988 one?

How? England never made it to the 1984 championships. And in the film, they were talking about going to Germany to face the Dutch and Germans

Green Street 2 really shouldn't be classed as a 'hooligan film'. It's pretty much to football version of Longest Yard.
