My Day report Pompey Away !!

Sun Aug 28, 2011 2:22 pm

I got my Ciders ready by putting them in the Freezer until one of the tops bursted off :o  but they were lovely and cold, Tidy !!. Myself and Regan (my Son) got to Cardiffcity Cultures and we made our way to Gabalfa where we was being picked up by the coach. A few of the Lads were there waiting including my good mate Marc and Canton Stand Baz, and they looked well contented after munching through a decent breakfast at the Pub.

The Coach arrived and we had to wait for Claire (as she had the tickets) But we would not of left her behind anyway :D . The atmosphere on the Coach was relaxed and it needed a few more beers before the volume started to turn up.
We had to stop in Bristol to pick up Placid (Julian) his son Jack and there mate Steve. But before that we was discussing the fact our Jules was the only person to get one over the one and only Peter Ridsdale by telling him he worked for O2 and they are considering sponsoring Cardiff City the following season, so Jules blagged two season tickets in the Directors box for that season   mind you he was generous enough for let his Friends use this facility as well :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

It didnt take long and we arrived at Portmouth and stopped in one Pub the happy something and the Landlord organised free food but the barmaids did take some unfair stick of certain individuals. It was nice to meet up with some characters again and it was a pleasure to meet Bridgend Bluebird who is one top bloke.

We then made the short but busy trip to the ground where we stopped at the now infamous Pub The good companion. It was packed inside and out with City which made a couple of us wonder when away teams come to us they never ever have a Pub like that close to the ground and especially with a giant flag attached to the Pub either. There we met Bomber who is a fantastic Character and he would join us for our Journey home on the Forum bus.

The game itself !! well you can read Ian's Match report for that but again it was tremendous support from the Lads who put Pompeys support to shame. And those friggin Drums would do my head in if we ever had them.

After the game the City fans made short work of the fence as they were ripping it down, but in short if we go to Portmouth again could see us with a much reduced allocation and we can not grumble now if we do. Some times we bring our own problems on our selves and it is still a problem. Dont get me wrong if two sets of fans want to have a ruck then get on with it but i have never understood vandalism like that. But in the End our Club will have to pay for that damage so whats the f*cking point ?

On the way Home it was my son against the whole Bus and the banter reached fever pitch, but Regan was loving it and his nick name Harry Potter  because of his Glasses  . Thanks to Julian he had sorted free entry to the Dog races in Swindon and when we arived it did look like a rich mans Vetch Field   and to a corus from the hordes on our coach "shit ground no fans"  I lost most of my money betting on Dogs that were the Mark Hudon and Ant Gerrard of the Greyhound world   and i am sure one of them is still trying to finish his lap now
One funny moment when one of the Dogs had a shit to be met with always shit on the English side of the Bridge from our lot  and many of the punters there were looking on in disbelief with plenty more songs being belted out as well.
But it was a great end to the day and lots of fun was had, thanks Julian for that :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

On the final journey we had a Jokes session on the mic but it was hampered as it was censored so the jokes had to be clean, but we all had a laugh heckling anyone that dared to have a go. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

All in all we had a really good day with some top company and Marc i hope you come on a few more with us, and i promise not to bring the Diet Pepsi with a bow on it next time.

lol when I did my pitch to Ridsdale and David temme in the boardroom when the plans of the stadium was on paper when I announce the o2 City Stadium I thought Ridsdale and Temme were going to come

:ayatollah:

I was the sales manager of o2 and even dragged the marketing manager down from head office.

Infact the first game of the season me, Sam hamman, Risdale, Neil Kinnock sat in the front row

Unfortunately I got sacked by o2 within months but Pete, Nukes, Top Cobbley kept getting in the directors box. lol

Unfortunately the o2 city stadium never happened.
:( :ayatollah:
