Malaysia captain one rule ok, malaysia ranking fifa no go, but do you honestly think that VT and TG would not be able to get a work permit, under the human rights issue restriction of trade , TG has said we will cross that bridge when we come to it

They wouldn't be putting him on trial with us if they didn't think they could get him here legally, could be a steal

TG must have a work permit so he can be Chairman of CCFC, so provided Safri has played in 75% of Malaysia's games getting a work permit shouldn't be a problem

Being a chairman doesn't require a work permit. TG isn't based permanently here, for one thing.
There's no chance Safri would gain a work permit due to Malaysia not being ranked high enough.
Let's be honest - Safri's trial is nothing more than a device to gain us more publicity in malaysia. And it's a pretty clever one, too. "Our nations best player had a trial, good enough.... just a shame UK rules prevented us signing him..."

You think TG would be dumb enough to open a MASSIVE can of worms for the sake of one player?
Even Wales could (probably) beat Malaysia.
As I said, makes better publicity if they went the route "we tried to get him, red tape stopped us". Boosts interest in Malaysian football without having to go to a lot of trouble to sign a player not good enough...
