WHAT IF MALKY AINT UP TO IT

Sat Aug 27, 2011 9:57 pm

But personally I think he is, but what I love.is the feeling of togetherness he brings, finally he as created a us against them mentality, and that's how it should be.

We are in this scrap together, if things go wrong occasionally, then they go wrong for all of us, don't look to blame anyone, it's our scrap, what would have happened if every time we had a set back in the world war the nation would have called for Churchill's head?

We are all in this together, succeed or fail it is all of us and together. What I like about Malky is that he is planning a long term future for a massive club, not a short term fix to get a big bonus.

We must stick with this bloke, he is the real deal and if we drive him out then we deserve everything that comes to us, if it's a fight, then we should all look out for one another, It is hard but let us all get behind this man and be part fo a long successful future. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Excellent post Gwyn.

Personally i think next season is the biggie for us. If it happens this season then that will be incredible but its all about getting a team together to have a massive pop at promotion next season.

Good Post: I wasn't too sure on MM be for His arrival, specially with the pathetic way potential managers were being linked to the City. But I am now a MM believer, Top Man, Know's His game. How ever, I don't have the same belief with the Director's/Owners etc...Something a miss?? :old:

Just my own opinion, but i think we're only two or three signings away from being
one of the best in this division RIGHT NOW!... If Malky gets two or three good
lads in now... I think we'll fly!

I can say something I haven't felt in seasons now and that is that I am proud of the team.

Johnny did you feel proud at the CCS against Brighton? This aint a dig at all but people have said all they want is a hard working team. Against Brighton i thought we were Hard working but people turned on here and other MB's so I think in general not?

This ain't a question at you but in general?

Mackay has brought a sense of togetherness that was missing under our previous manager.

I feel a part of things now where as before our previous manager created a barrier between the fans and the team,

I agree, in the end it why I wanted him gone and replaced. IMO it's not just jones tho, after 6 years any manager will get wholes picked in them.

The clapping of players have ever bother be at all, of course appreiciated but I wonder how long players clapping will be enough.

We aint had a bad start and I think we will get better.

But in this league every game is like a cup tie and the hard working best supported sides normally win them.

Start has been mixed but good/solid.
I think we are 6th so it's something to gain on. I like the way MM seems to have a few system and when players are for
I dont think we will see a standard team everweek.

Yeah and Brighton are no "flash in the pan". They'll take some stoppping under Poyet with everything they have going for them.
A settled squad with lots of momentum.

Gwyn you are spot on with MM !

Last season Watford, when we played them, gave us hard games because they never gave up right to the final whistle. This work ethic is evident to see with us now.

The players seem to me to be happier and more relaxed at interviews, and it's good to see that MM is now involving all media it's like a breath of fresh air.

I am very hopeful for the future as MM seems to be laying down strong foundations for the future as well, and also he not afraid to give the youngsters a chance.

Well done Malky !!

Don Cowie must be the fittest man on the planet, thank god he's not paid per mile as we'd be paying him more than messi.

Competitive record so far W4, D2, L1. That one loss was against the in form, top of the table team. Both draws were against tricky opposition and away from home. First win was against premier league quality opposition riddled with english stars and hotly tipped for promotion and all that away from home. Second win was a hammering of our local rivals. Carling Cup wins were after extra time with second string teams playing against tricky and in form lower league opposition, showing that much desired never say die attitude. And then there is this record considering we have more or less a brand new team from last season and new back room staff who haven't had a lot of time to gel. From what I have seen so far, Malky is up to it.
I am just happy with the ethic and attitude that he has brought to the team. I can't ask for more than a team that gives 100%. Give me this year's team and setup over last year's superstar prima donnas any day of the week!!! :ayatollah:

And last season Watford faded just as bad as we did (maybe ever worse) . Lets see how well we has a Team play at the end of the season; I would expect any team to give their all and play their hearts out 5 games into a season. Malky doing a lovely job at the moment, but up the front partnership needs some serious addressing and its also a worry how our defence is at times cut open too easily and no different from when under Jones, but it's early days and hopefully come Christmas upfront and the Defensive matters will be addressed and fixed

Agree Gwyn, If he had Jones side last year, then we would have been promoted.
Lets back the Malaysians, Malky and the team, even if we finish mid table.
I hated last season with all the bickering although we ended up in the playoffs.
As long as the management team and players show passion, then thats all I want for my money. :ayatollah:

If MM fails then you have to put the blame with the board and not MM.

MM has done a top f*cking job with no budget.

I'm 100% sure he planned to make Goodwillie/Miller his main strikeforce.

I don't believe for a second Earnshaw and Miller were his first choice he had in mind.

Goodwillie/Miller would of taken this league by storm.

But the board got cold feet and Goodwillie is now holding his own in the Prem.

Totally agree Taffy, with 3 quality signings in the right positions, IMO centre back, right wing, and striker we could a real force in the division this season. Just hope the Malaysians give MM the funding to push on now rather than wait till maybe January when it could possibly be too late to help us. Also Gwyn is spot on in the original post, MM is the right man for the job love how the guy is on the sideline right throughout the game coaching and encouraging the team right through the game. Just hope he doesn't burn himself out before the end of the season

Now that is a good post. Early days to judge Malky ut I think its fairly safe to say that this year will not see promotion albeit there could be an outside chance of a playy off place and then, who knows.

The bigger question is whether the board will continue to make funds available for new signings, be it before the window closes, in the loan window or January. This will be the biggest indicator of whether we are building for the future or not.
