i'm a mac but if I was going to buy a windows machine Acer is the only company I would buy with because their stuff doesn't break. My monitor is an acer monitor and i'd about 5 years old and still works like new.

Good power but not very good battery or graphics card. If you don't care about the good graphics and whether it's new or not and if you're using it at home, it's good.

Don't touch Acer. Cheap cheap C***.
Samsung or Fujitsu are good brands with good back up support. As are Lenovo.

Acer are cheap and nasty, not to be confused with asus !!!
I'd go for a samsung, asus or Sony as I'm sure they pretty much use the same components

I work for Tesco and statistically Acer have a very high returns to sales %.
They are poor quality and Acer are nightmare when it comes to resolving issues that require them to repair under manufacturers warranty.

all depends what your gong to use it for claire? to be fair for a little extra you could get something with a better proecessor and more ram, has a nice size hard drive on it though.. steer clear of the netbooks though

If you're tight on money. NEVER ever buy a netbook.

Speed of the tech and the cost of the cheap laptops makes this the best method. Unless you want to be playing games or doing video editing this will answer your needs (if either of these are your aim then just go for a desktop)

I have an asus netbook and it's fantastic, far better than my mrs dell laptop, dell desktop and the asus is a year older, everyone has a different opinion, although everyone agrees acer are bunk, every machine is better than another for different reasons, depends what you want it for

If you want to buy best performance and lower price laptop than you should go for Toshiba Laptop. Toshiba gives fast processors, webcam with face recognition, bigger storage, touch pad with multi-touch control, some even come with a hard drive impact sensor to help protect your data against dings and drops.
