Plain and simple - apart from one or two - we are seriously lacking pace, I think this is our biggest down fall, the center halves, the strikers and 50% of the midfield..... If we can bring in some quality pacey players from prem loans - we'll give our selves a better chance......
I would also like to say well done to Joe Mason again yesterday - for me our best player

total agree we lack pace all over the park we need 2 or 3 new signings with pace i was saying it to my mate all through the game last night we need some who can break from midfield with pace and against top sides in this div with quick strickers our centre backs will struggle

Santa Cruz isn't pacey
Chambers is quicker than the lumps, but not as pacey
Weiss is fairly quick
Bellers is 32, debatable.
Bullard is 32, and certainly isn't pacey
Miller is pacey
Earnie is still pacey and athletic
Gestede looks very pacey, never gets the opportunity.
Although I do agree, we need a right sided speed demon, someone who can mix it up a bit and offer us a variety, get into scoring positions and who's got a good cross for RUDY

We need Santa Cruz for a Target man and strengh
Bullard for another strong man and playmaker
Chambers because hudson is shite
wiess fast
Beller fast

We definately need a pacey wide man, not that we can make much of a judgement call after only a handful of games but so far for me Conway doe snot look fast enough to be a threat

Agree, our centre backs and i mean all our centre backs lack pace, plus we need a couple of pacy mid fielders.

I did suggest not long back that we may not actually NEED Bellamy......... however, judging on yesterday, we DO NEED him - the burst of acceleration he has from standstill to a 20m or so sprint is exactly whats missing to be able to play off the shoulder of the last defender with balls that cut stright through the park.
It is my opinion that Miller is not fast enough to play this way, and I can't say that I was best pleased with his efforts yesterday either. Earnie, who still has a quick footballing head just doesn't have the legs to go with it anymore, he is fast yes, but he doesn't have that killer sprint any more.
Gestede is very powerful runner and is fairly quick once momentum has built up, but it is still that big burst of (bellamy, dj campbell, defoe, maynard, chopra) acceleration that we need!
I am also praying that we get quicker center halfs in soon. Gerrard and Hudson are just too slow to cope with most of the attackers that I just described what we needed!!

Santa Cruz? Do me a favour. We got no chance of getting him.
If teams in the Prem cannot afford to cover his wages then we got no chance.

I dont see the point anyway, you defend from the front - and attack from the back. We need to sort out our center halfs first, it is imperative that we stop leaking stupid goals and fix this before we go looking to sign more (unaffordable) strikers.
Don't you think £25k a week for Miller is already paying over the odds!

Miller not 100% fit yet as he didnt have a pre-season, plus playing alongside Earnie isnt doing any of them any favours. We need a different kind of (affordable) option to play alongside Miller. Earnie as impact substitute and maybe get more value for money out of both of them.
Certainly not working as a pair at the minute but Malkay isnt stupid he can probably see it.

Wooooooow
Kenny Miller is very quick, just hasn't had much opportunity to use it, but trust me his acceleration and pace is very very good, much quicker than Earnie .

The only gripe I really have for Kenny Miller is that he is absolutley shite on his left foot! Every time he gets up in the box, he always tries to switch it to his right foot as soon as he can - wasting valuable time in getting a shot off, also - I noticed that the Brighton defence were forcing him alot onto his left foot, and effectively forcing him out of the game too.... If Kenny miller is anywhere around the box and pulling the trigger on his right foot - he's as dangerous as any other striker in this league.
