It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce that The Globe in its current form is no more. Due to ongoing conflict with the venue landlord, Alan Jones (The Globe owner) who created and operated the venue has been forced to withdraw from the premises. All shows will be honoured, relocated or refunded from point of ticket purchase. Rest assured we already in talks with other venues. A full statement is to follow.

It just sounds like they're refurbishing it and might want to change the name but it will still be there as a live music venue. I think it's shutting for about a month whilst they do it up. Not sure if it will still attract the same calibre of artist or if they'll go for bigger acts. I thought it was going to be staying as it was because it was very popular.
