I'm off to Edinburgh...

Next monday and heard it's a nice city. Just wondering what's people's verdict on Scotland's capital city.

Great City for either a piss up or a family outing.

Lots to do-Dungeons are pretty good, zoo is excellent, shopping fine, opentop bustours are good and the pubs and nightlife arent too bad. Shame about beggars, yanks and jap tourists....

I got engaged there last month. Love the place. If you love your history then do the Real Mary King's Close tour. It mixes ghostly tales with historical facts and is a quality tour. There are some cracking pubs up by the Royal Mile. Try the World's End pub. Nice and intimate!

If you want a fancy restaurant then Gusto's is nice but it's quite expensive and the waiter/waitresses are stuck up but the food is absolutely fantastic.

It will forever remain in my heart because I got engaged there and it was the best weekend of my life but even before then I went up for a stag do and had a great time so I've seen it from a debauched perspective and a more civilized view point.

great nightlife up there mate expecially up by the castle cant rember names of the pubs/clubs now but i went a few years back had a great time you will enjoy yourself mate

Nice place, bit pricey in some parts and lots of pretentious wankers in other areas.

Always enjoy my visits there though. Was there today funnily enough

I watched Hearts beat Celtic when fatty Hartson was playing. Superb atmosphere at Tynecastle. Definately recommend a trip there.

I live up here mate, i used to stay on Lochend road a stone throw from Easter Road (Hibs).And i now live in Musselburgh a stone throw from the Racecourse....Top city mate...

expensive and full of tourists,went on a stag trip last year bouncers werent the nicest of people and our land lady hated us but thats most prob down to one of the boys trying to kick the door in at 4 in the morning because he forgot his key

Go to the castle. It may sound daft considering there are more castles in Wales per square mile than anywhere else in europe but it really is worth it.

been 7 or 8 times to edinburgh ,

went for my stag too.

great place, some expensive bars or queen street,

the royal mile for traditional pubs,

or head up to the grass market... superb place, good pubs, plenty going on..
