A forum for all things Cardiff City

My firm belief at the moment is that Bellamy will be returning to us, its just a matter of when and how (in terms of what financial arrangement will be deployed).
I suspect at the moment that as the possibility of us paying a fee remains, this is directly obstructing our advances towards other targets who are currently under contract at their respective clubs. One example being Chambers - Malky has stated in the media that he's willing to be patient in order to conclude this summers recruitment process, and this patience IMO is borne from the Bellamy situation and its secondary consequences.
The sooner Bellamy, the club and Man City can work a resolution to the problem the better for all concerned, because no matter which angle you review the situation from...all roads for Bellamy lead to us. He's played a clever patient game and it will pay off for him.
Two more signings of genuine quality and we'll have a team AND a squad that is definitely good enough to compete at the top. It is then down to Malky to get them to deliver

I believe that it is.

i think your right. if you look at how frequent our first 6 transfers were compared to now, this may (or may not) signal that we are holding on for bellers

If we don't get Bellers in this window I think we'll have to resort to last minute loans.
I don't think it'll come to that but I think it will drag on till 11:59PM on transfer deadline day!

I want bellamy back but wary of the fact we might not get him, therefore missing out on other potential targets and leaving us with loans who dont play with true commitment

the club are not daft we are holding out for bellamy but i think the main reason things have slowed is the fact that players we are after bellamy and so forth wont be allowed to leave until the 25 man prem league squads have been announced

I don't think it's holding us up. The first 6 were so frequent because they were mostly frees.
Malky has a budget, and as far as we know, he's after 3 more players, one of those being Bellamy. If he wants two more players along with him then obviously they have been included in the budget.
Obviously, waiting for Bellamy means not making any progress on any second option players Malky is interested in, but this just shows how keen he is on signing Bellamy.
Oh, and there's always the January window if we are still short. It's all about depth now for the most part really.

I don't think city are holding any sort of fee back as I can't see any possible way in which we would pay man city any fee transfer fee at all.
I should think we are holding back a considerable amout of money for his wages though and I do also think he will be back.
