John Parkin's future ?

Mon Jul 25, 2011 12:52 pm

As stated earlier in the week the big striker's or target men are gone out of fashion.( Fortune west,Hartson,Parkin) A striker these days have got to be fast, sharp & robust.(Like Bothroyd lol) Parkin will always be big and his age is against him to change his ways. :o But i think he could make a good Central Defender. Any ideas on the big mans future ?

My opinion is that he's not quite up to the standards of top half championship football. He doesn't really bring anything in the way of star qualities to the club, one of Jones' panic buys when we were in need of a striker and he was hoping he would come good??? Personally think he will either go on the cheap (what we paid for him?) or out on loan?

parkins signing was a gamble which up to now has not worked out i personally think he aint good enough at this level no more his chance against celtic was a sitter and he should have buried it :ayatollah:

Keep him, good plan b! The passing game doesnt always work so he'd be useful to batter centre halves last 20mins to try getting a breakthru. Ppl moaned about DJ not having a plan b and now some want MM to get rid of one

Maybe Earnshaw's plan B - I think Malky will put out as close as a full strength side as he can against Parma, being so close to the Westham game..... There isn't any friendly after that one is there??

I agree with the plan b theory.Loan him out and let him get some game time elsewhere. When he comes back IF THERE IS A MARKED IMPROVEMENT keep him for plan b.Don't burn all the bridges we are not really in a position to do that. :ayatollah:
