Hello, Ola, Ciao, Guten Tag, Top O' the morning and many other stereotypical foreign greetings to you all. For those who know me, it's been a while - I've been "Lorded" while I've been away as you can see, rather like the Lord formerly known as Sir Alan. For those of you who don't know me - well, you obviously can't be 'that' inner circle can you??
Anyway, let's not be morose, put a smile on those pretty little faces of yours - the future is bright. Since I last checked in with you all there have been a few slight changes in the personnel at the CCS. Dave Jones has walked the managerial plank and there is a new skipper at the helm of the good ship Cardiff City. And, my lovelies, I am pissing my pants sort of happy.
It's surprising that, because I'm a pessimistic soul normally. The glass is usually half empty with me. I'm normally pondering the 'what could go wrong' rather than dreaming of success. Seriously, if the newly red headed Charlotte Church dropped her knickers (again this week) in front of me, and told me to give her pasty one hell of a smashing I'd be more worried about catching crabs than the undboubted velvety goodness of her foof. Before throwing a sausage up her chippy lane all the same.
But the sun is shining over casa Davies. Malky Mackay has breathed new life into the club. He's brought in new players, exciting players such as Taylor, Cowie, Conway, Gunnarson, Gestade, Mason. He's brought in Kenny f*cking Miller. He's brought Earnie back home where he belongs - which is massive news in my palacial pile because my statue of the great man himself has moved from the 'Lee Naylor Suite (the downstairs shitter in my house is actually called that. For real. There is a signed picture of Naylor up on the door too. Also - two loos, see, I wasn't kidding when I called my gaff palacial. Posh tw*t). The Earnie statue now resides in my front window so my neighbours can worship and bow to the man in all his pre dentist visit glory.
And the most important thing about these signings - we own them. If we don't succeed in Malkys 'transition' season, we have a solid base on which to build, players will not be leaving for parent clubs, because they're ours. Plus, there seems to be a sense of togetherness about the squad - something we haven't seen for a while - something instilled by Malky.
So, we've lost a couple of friendlies, big deal. There's nothing to be worried about - the season starts on August 7th and I'm looking forward to it like Jon Parkin looks forward to pie.
Have a wonderful day each and every one of you, especially a certain Mr Abraham. Don't know if you got my text while you were away. It was good to here your voicemail (even it it came through a month after you sent it) because I thought you thought I was dead. I'm not. I'm alive. And Happy.
Lord Davies.
