Is the Beast the new Eddie?

Sun Jul 24, 2011 1:57 pm

Just a observation, Went to Bournemouth and City fans seemed split. Either takin the piss, Groans of exsaperation or willing him on.

Personally i don't think he is the right type of player for us, but as long as he wears the shirt and puts effort in he will have my support.

And by the way I did see Ronnie Moore Score. So I have seen a few Turkeys play up frony for us over the Years :old: :old: :old:

I think Eddie was a better player and he always looked like he was trying hard.

Eddie was better in the air, faster and stronger. Parkin adds no value to our squad.

He's a target man that can only win headers by fouling people. I hate criticising players, but he should at least get in shape to show he's trying.

ffs, give him a chance will u, way ppl are acting, its as if its the end of the world. Prior to signing him, he was Prestons top scorer, and when we signed him he scored on his debut. After the Norwich game, he rarely started, had no run of games, which didnt do his fitness any justice. Give him some time......he just needs to gain a little confidence. I will never boo any player in a city shirt...we should be encouraging them.

I think the pace of the game we will be playing in the final third will be too much
for him. I hope he comes good though

I don't think Eddie is capable of scoring the goal that Parkin did at Norwich last year.

I'll trump your Ronnie Moore by saying that I have seen Joe Bonson score. ;)
Back to the subject at hand: I do not think Parkin has been given a fair chance. DJ could not see beyond Bothroyd and so he did not get enough games last season. I think if the new manager talks to him and gives him a strict training regime that he would soon get his weight down. All he would need is the confidence that a few starts would give and he would soon be among the goals.
I have friends at Barnsley who rate him highly and would take him back in a heartbeat, also he was highly thought of at Preston. I do not think this guy is a mug, he just needs to be managed properly.
