As Gerrard was the centre back and Stokes was the centre forward Gerrard should have been marking, and the ball went over Gerrard's head and Stokes was unmarked behind him, it's obvious that Gerrard misjudged the flight of the ball and was at fault for the goal. However, you can also blame McNaughton for not stopping the cross. I thought Celtic were too sharp for us at times and cut through our defence far too easily. I would like to put it down to fitness, but I think we need another centre back who has a bit of pace.

yup, i agree. On this occassion Gerrard was at fault but you could also pick on McNaughton for letting the cross get in but Super Kev never makes a mistake, does he!

Exactly. Arguably the best full-back in the league but let's hope his distribution improves this season. I'm not saying that his distribution was poor last night but you know what I mean !

I would keep gerrard but to me he has to take responsibility for the goal, when a ball is sent into the six yard box you would expect one of your two central defenders to challenge for it in the air, thats what they are there for!!!!!
