Can't condone the idiot that put a plate of shaving foam or whatever it was in Rupe's face - but far from being "grilled" I reckon the questioners, apart from Tom Watson, were very lightly braising them - I'd love to see what a full blown US Congressional Committee would make of them if/when it comes to that.

It's just not credible that the Murdochs are so out of touch, especially today. The questions were generally soft ball and unfocused. It seemed to me there was little coordination of the questions, different people seemed to repeat questions that had been asked earlier.

James kept on saying "I wasn't here then", "Nobody told me ....", blah, blah .....

I've had dealings with MDs, directors, senior management etc who make him look like an office boy - I'm sure if it wasn't for his dad he'd be nowhere near the job he's got (for now  ).

That was a grilling? Apart from one or two MPs, the rest were on an ass kissing mission! Tough questions my arse!

oh so stage managed, he implied to the committee that I am a 80 year old buffoon, who does not know what was going on in his own company LOL and his son whose attitude was I got it wrong again Dad as in the Dick Emery show :D :D :D :D :D

The idiot who put the plate of shaving cream in his face was pathetic, as the Rolling Stones say "sympathy for he Devil" :o :o :o :o :o

You seriously think he plays a day to day part in the running and management of the NOTW? News International is a massive company... it's the mass media and public as usual looking for a "name" culprit. Look, a guy with money, quick, he must have known, must have been deliberate....

It's like the Baby P incident - public and media clamour to blame the person in overall charge. The social workers on the ground who repeatedly f***ed up? Nah, salt of the earth working class people, not their fault at all...

It's entirely feasible people up to a certain level knew what was going on. Question is, how far up the chain did it go? I'd be surprised if Murdoch Sr was involved or knew.

ok i see your point and if murdoch is not directly responsible for all the NOTW's wrong doings, the people who were need to be found and held responsible for their actions, but the buck will always stop at Murdoch he owns the paper for years he has said he is very involved in the running of his company, if his company has broken the law its his responsibility and should be held accountable. His excuse of the NOTW is only 1% of his company and you cant hold him accountable for the action of 1%, I say yes you can, I dont care if its 1% or 99%, its his company its his responsibility to keep the actions of his company legal and above board.
