TOO ALL THOSE REGARDING CHANNEL 4'S DISPATCHES

Mon Jul 18, 2011 9:59 pm

the programme states that joe simms stated vincent tan seeked help in purchasing cardiff city football club
however joe simms stated that cardiff city IS up for sale. and all these points to the fact, vt in involved in the 5 year scheme, to take a championship club, spend a few mill, then sell off for well worth £100m+

now we was all given the story that they purchased the club because, datos son applied for a trial and cardiff said yes, so dato done some research and then had his friend buy into the club. dato was being invited to the club on match days, and speaking with the board, so this raises the question if Vincent tan, did buy the club to become onwer chairmen for fair reasons then he wouldnt of needed joe simms,

sadly i feel this is another false foriegn hope for our club

Regardless of VT & TGs motives, without them we wouldn't have a club.

Enjoy the ride and if they do sell up in a few years and make a fortune well good luck to them. It means we'll be in the Premier League at long last.

Ridsdale or Tan? I still know who I'd rather!

There was nothing in that program to suggest anything with regards to wrongdoing or point to Tans motivation.

Bit early to jump the gun.

I'm sure the FL will ask Tan about the link to Sims, but it's a bit premature to worry.

I thhink if they sell up, then it will be because we're NOT in the Premiership. Why would they? There will be a steady stream of income and untold riches in their own country to take advantage of. And, if we're not in the Premiership within the next 2 years, then I think they will sell up then.

But when people say about VT buying the club, I don't think he has, has he? I always thought that, between them, VT and TG have just under 50% of the club which wouldn't make him the owner

When Shim said they were up for sale, he could well have been referring the remaining majority of shares that Vt and TG do not own.

Does anyone think that this bloke may have been a bit of a conman? He seemed a bit of a fantasist to me so all this could have been bravado and these funds could just have been a front to get money out of people then just run. I'm quite sceptical about these people

They are Malaysian dreamers who want Cardiff to be as big as Arsenal , Man U , Liverpool etc in Asia and they honestly think that will happen just be getting into the Prem . Reality check is then if City did would 20,000 fans just turn up to watch them train ???? Yes Im glad they saved CCFC and have pumped millions in but Im not convinced sorry ...... they wanted Shearer as manager ffs , Mackay has done brill so far IMO plus Gethin and Co behind the scenes seem to be more adapt now to football :ayatollah: :D :ayatollah:

The truth and reality is that nobody realy knows.

The Malaysians could be in for a 5 year plan, get us to the Premiership and sell us off for massive profit in which case you would have to say excelent business.

Or.. they could be genuine and in it for the long hall.

As said above, the truth is that nobody, except Vincent Tan and whoever else is involved knows what the true motives are.

Either way, it doesnt realy bother me if they are in it for the short term or long term as long as we get to the PL and they leave us in good hands.

What would be the problem if they did get us up and sell up?

They make money, we go up and there would still be the chance of fresh investment.

The fact is that the club, without an outright ownership stake, could potentially be bought. That's what he meant by "cardiff being available".

A business man looking to buy and then sell a club with the aim of making massive profits! Whatever next!!! Let's get to the prem and let both fans and the Malaysians get what they want. If we dont make it and they sell because it costing more than planned for them, then I say thanks for trying. There isn't a chance we'd be in contention without them.

The odd thing about all this is, if supposing you are a millionaire/billionaire wanting to buy into a club for big profit, why would you buy into a club that has huge debt already hanging over it. Vincent Tan could easily have bought into a more stable club than Cardiff City, a club that has'nt almost been wound up, has'nt suffered the odd embargo, does'nt owe money to a lunatic Lebanese man  and also to fellow directors and local businesses.

Better than a business man turning up and piling up a stack load of date which he claims we owe him at a later date once he's moved on. ;)

I agree with you, to be honest i don,t know what all the fuss is about from our point of view, if vt did ask this joker for advise then so be it, (he obviously didn,t take it) if anyone has got to worry about future employment after that programme is bryan robson!!!!!

It was also a football club which had just built a £40m+ 27,000 capacity stadium and held a lease on a brilliant trainning ground.

Throw in 17,000 season ticket holders while in the second tier of the English League Pyamid and you have the potential of a club which not only could make the Premiership but stay there. Those factors had to be part of the business plan to eventually sell on at an inflated price.

Sim was all chat. He was clearly a clinger on looking to use his contacts to his advantage in business. It says VT asked for advice... it doesn't show evidence of this. Even if VT did ask for advice it would have purely been because Sim creates this illusion that he knows a lot about the game when he clearly doesn't.

Even the Sheffield United link he was making out it was a done deal even before the McCabe family had properly considered any bid. There's a lot of talkers like Sim in the game and nothing surprised me last night. The one thing I did find hilarious was firstly, how much they rate Bryan Robson (which proves they know f**k all) and secondly, how little genuine substance there was.
