And someone on here suggested that since MM has taken over, there have been no leaks, unlike the Dave Jones era

Until he signs thats all it is "A story" ---Jackanory

Dave Jones 1st signed Kenny Miller when at Wolves plus a few seasons ago Miller played for Derby County ...... he's defo NOT Premiership and would struggle to get more than 5 or 6 goals in the Championship !

nah not for me,plus rangers will offer him silly wages, theyre welcome to him

View from a Rangers perspective - the reply is a good read and believe we would be in the same position as them if he signs

Carl works for Echo and obviously he or Annis have some sort of arrangement with them!
Do you not think he would come out and say how annoyed he was if they were actually plagarising his words?!
Mon Jul 18, 2011 1:21 pm
no wonder they're all getting sacked, stupid journo's who have nothing better to do than troll the net for storys
hate that rag paper

Anyone thought that maybe the Echo are Carls sources? ..... He can say it whenever on here, they have to wait until the paper comes out the next day.....

No he doesn't, Carl writes a column for the Echo. Big difference. Only one person on here works for the Echo, that's me

So he receives no remuneration for that work?

Whether he does or not, I couldn't tell you and it's Carl's business anyway. But, as far as I'm aware, all he does is write a column for the paper on the saturday. That's not the same as being a paid employee and also not the same as working for the paper

Of course it's his business but you seem to know alot about it as you are adamant he does not work for them! Is writing the column simply a hobby then? Would you say Jeremy Clarkson is working for The Sun when he writes his weekly column in there?
I would say that having someone who is 'in the know' helps to sell papers & boost website hits so if he's not employed by them & not getting paid he's missing a trick!
Very fishy indeed

Why do you think I know a lot about it? I don't. I'm just saying that he doesn't work for them, he's a guest columnist. Just as Clarkson doesn't work for The Sun. He works for the BBC and is a guest columnist for The Sun. Nothing fishy or sinister and no trick missed

I'll be the first to admit that the Echo sports reporting is usually pretty sh*te, but has anyone thought to consider that the Echo may have the same sources as Carl.
If this was the case, it's quite probable that if Carl gets information in the afternoon, or in the evening and the Echo gets the same info at the same time, Carl can give his updates immediately, whereas there will be a delay publishing the same info in the Echo.
Hardly suprising then that Carl is often quicker to the punch and get's info out quicker.
It could also be the case that Carl and the Echo happily share info with each other to help drive up intrerest in anything posted/published.
Then again, the Echo could genuinely be sh*te and Carl could be phone tapping Gethin's office. Who know's and to be honest who cares. Rumours just help pass the time.

Aye Martyn, I'm also not to sure about this one. The first signing I have doubts about.

A petty discussion I know but Clarkson DOES get paid to write for the Sun & the Times so DOES work for both papers as well as the BBC (google search brings up this 'Just for starters Clarkson is paid an estimated £1m a year in BBC salary for the job....His cashflow is fuelled further by income from scores of books, DVDs and columns for newspapers and magazines'
