Have you ever turned down a job with CCFC the main reason?

3 Years ago I got offered a position with an Estate Agent after they saw my CV on a recruitment website.

The position they offered me was a good job with prospects, but only slightly better than the job I was doing.

The only thing was they were offerning me £5k a year more but I knew I had a pay review coming up with my current employer.

The other MAJOR problem was that working for the Estate Agent would involve working Saturdays, every week.

I dismissed it right out of hand and was called an idiot by my then Girlfriend and a few non Football mates.

I ended up with a £1500 pay rise (Max available) anyway so technicaly turned down a £3500 payrise to work for another firm based on the fact I wouldnt be able to watch Cardiff City.

Id do it again tomorow to be honest.

Id never take a job that involved working Saturdays unless the money was at least £10-£15k more than my current earnings.

Would you?

Yeah, I turned down a job that was better pay than when I was working at the Council purely because it involved working Saturdays. I am privileged that I can choose to work on Saturdays or not but saying that now I am freelance I often have to work Saturday mornings and evenings in order to attend Cardiff games in the day. Wouldn't change it though.

Yes.

About three years ago I was fortunate enough to have two job offers on the table, one which involved working shifts in the 999 Room for Mid and West Wales Fire and an IT job in the local authority.

Even thought at the time the fire job was more money, I would have been working shifts and chances of getting to City games would have been slim to none.

I don't think anyone can be as picky anymore.

Jobs a job these days!

If it was the right job for me and involved working Saturdays then yes I would do it.

It would be a unique situation for me if I did find a job like that because my sort of work I can always work around the football. Being in the UK the last couple of years it has bee great as I have managed to get to most games but when I was abroad it was not so easy. Even so when I did come home I could not waitto get to the next game regardless where ever it was.

I left 3 jobs that went onto include Saturday working when I was younger. None of them had Saturday shifts when I started but they all expanded through time. I must have had a good effect

Things change when kids etc come along though.
