" West Ham heading for a Ban of Cardiff fans "

Sun Jul 10, 2011 8:13 am

Not looking good I am afraid to say: The Met and SAG (Safety Advisory Group) are insisting on a full bubble and 1000 ticket allocation for everyone supporting Cardiff on the day. That means supporters who live in London will also have to make their way to South Mimms services. Cardiff City Football club has refused to accept both the ticket allocation and full bubble. However the club have said they would be prepared to accept a ticket exchange, exiles make their own way to the ground, and a reduced ticket allocation to 1500 from 2000. This would allow supporters to go in the car and make their own way to London if they choose.

I have heard if we are banned that there will be a spontaneous demonstration march from Newham Council offices by dockside, to Newham police station Romford Road. I have been told it will take place early enough so that we can watch the game live in a pub in London also taking in the charity shield game kicking off later that day. I am currently at the FSF agm in London and many of my colleagues will be bringing supporters to the demonstration including West Ham, Man City, Man Utd who are already in London on that day.

Millwall last game is the reason why these restrictions are in place mind - it was world war 3 . Since the Old Bill lost control of that one they will go for the safest option. What they have put forward is the easiest option for them .

Millwall will probably be a 10-oclock kick off on a Sunday this time

Vince - Thanks for the information.

That is a disgrace. If that happens then they're asking for trouble. I do hope they have a reality check.

As absolute load of bollocks that..........

I know its not ideal but couldn't you boycott the game if the bubble/1000 tickets thing happens...???

You did a similar thing at Leeds a few years back i recall......

As for the OB blaming the Millwall game, more like it was there own fault half of that stuff happened, im sure a big group of Millwall turned up late and kicked the doors of the away end (or were opened for them).....how did this rather large group manage to wonder around all day without being noticed...??? Very convenient, obviously the mobile film units werent working that day then......

They also let massive mobs of West Ham congregate all day without even trying to disperse/break em up.......

A bloke was stabbed right near the ground but despite a massive presence of OB non of them were in that particular road.....

Appears to be another set up, but didnt quite work out that way for em........

I am sure I read in The Sun middle of last week that WHU had agreed to give Millwall 2000 tickets when they play them. Somebody confirm this for me please? If thats the case then why try and restrict us more? f*cking game gone to the dogs :x

Will the same restrictions be imposed for the return fixture with West Ham?

Re: " West Ham heading for a Ban of Cardiff fans "

Those restrictions are a joke. However I seem to remember we had to exchange tickets at south mimms on the day of the flying fruit and veg. ha ha.

i bet not, it will be the same as leeds last year,we get treat like shit and they can do what they want

Re: " West Ham heading for a Ban of Cardiff fans "

We should go anyway, all the usual trip arrangers, vince, dibbs, the club, the forum etc run coaches and tell the met there's x amount of coaches coming to pub near the ground. They can restrict us going to the ground as fans but not a pub as day trippers. We might not be in the ground but our fans will be heard near by.

Re: " West Ham heading for a Ban of Cardiff fans "

That's pretty bad, I actually have sympathy for Cardiff fans here - we've not had any trouble (that I'm aware of) from you so I think you're definitely being made to pay for 1) old reputation and 2) the inability to control West Ham fans.

The Met police are notoriously rubbish at dealing with football fans. Watford fans have had all sorts of trouble from the police at games in London, incidents at Millwall & Palace immediately spring to mind. Their tactic is to hit first & deny it ever happened later. Or failing that, if it looks like trouble is brewing just don't bother going near it - if you don't see it, it never happened and they can't be held accountable.

Same deal being an England fan at away games (not that the vast majority of you will care about that!).

I'll never do another bubble trip as long as I live.....2011, and we still have to put up with this shit.....they can keep West Ham away, and whatever other away game we get restrictions, not having any fucker telling me what I can and cannot do if I want to watch a game.

Give the fuckers 500 tickets when they come down too us!
