I don't think 2 million for Bellamy is good value

I have seen it mentioned maybe using the Goodwillie money for a cheeky bid for Bellamy. Personally I think that would be a mistake. Take into account his wages (even if he took a reduction) and I cannot see how we can justify it. There would be no sell on value for him and he would not guarantee us Premiership football. It's a lot to pay when we are quite skint.

It would be a big gamble.

Bellamys wages would still be astronomical for a Championship club and surely not great for team morale..

In many respects having one superstar player just doesn't make any sense.

In all honesty I think the money may be better spent elsewhere.

I agree. A mutual cancelation of his contract at Man City and free transfer to us in the only way really. It is all down to how much Bellamy wants to play for us, he will have to lose a lot of money

It could be argued although he is a superstar in reputation he didn't really perform like one last year so to pay out huge amounts would be short sighted.

I don't think he will go hungry. I would like him back but don't want to bankrupt the club doing so.

Provided a sensible wage is agreed 2m for Bellamy would be fantastic business. Leicester paid 5m for a centre half!

I also think that he had a very good year for Cardiff last year particularly towards the end of the season. He scored and created goals and he raises the levels of the players around him. Easy answer- would be a major signing if we can get him back. I think that the board will make every effort to do that. :ayatollah:
