EARNIE - THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES??

Wed Jul 06, 2011 7:26 am

As a died in the wool Robert Earnshaw fan i cannot believe how many posts
refer to his first spell down the City.

those days are gone folks

I hope he boots stamps and smashes my words down my throat, but....

I cant see him getting the goals any more

y not taffy?

hes clearly capable of getting 10-15 goals easily..

depends on how he is going to be used in the squad?

but his form towards the end of the season suggests that he can still score.. ok maybe not the 25-30 goals of previous , but then he was our first choice striker back then..

I've always been in the 'never go back' camp. I'm really not sure about it. One part of me says it's brilliant news, another part of me hopes that he can be the success he was first time round but how many players have really done this? Mark Hughes and ian Rush are the only ones I can think of

Because he is a not a team player would rather shoot in difficult situations than pass to a team mate, his stats show that one season more shots off target than anyone else by a mile. Why else would his managers at Wba, Derby and Forest not play him on a regular basis it is because of his overall contribution and he his too old now to learn how to control a ball.Having said that he will be useful coming off the bench if we need a goal as he did for Forest last season

I'm loving him coming back but hopefully as backup where I can see him being brilliant coming on and winning the game etc. If he has been signed as a squad player good times ahead. Although he was not first choice for Forest he started 26 games and was only used off the bench 8 times.

This time earnie has something to prove a player that wants to prove him self will do good in my opinion.
