Have been told today after 11 years working for the same company I am being made redundant, due to the econmic climate. So f*cking angry, 14 sick days in 11 years so much for f*cking loyalty to the company.

I get a week for every year, haven't a clue how I will pay the mortgage etc

Cheers mate I suppose its the times we are living in, however I know there are people worse off than me, but it annoys me the amount of the loyalty I have committed to the company

One week is shit mate.
I saw people get made redundent a few years ago and they were 2.5 weeks per year, I though 2 was the minimum but obviously not.
What do you do mate, this might not suit you but that Listening Company are coming to Cardiff with 600 jobs and Barclays and the AA are taking on, might not be your cup of tea but might be worth having a look.

They don't think any better of you mate for a gook sickness record. But on a plus side that will stand you in good stead for future employment. Real shitty news mate feel for you. Good luck in finding employment real soon

Not good news mate, I'm 58 now 
and it happened to me twice in 18 months, got £1800 the first time and £320 the 2nd time. Was out of work for about three and a half months and then had 3 job offers in about 2 weeks, one in Debenhams, one in John Lewis (4,000 applicants apparently) and one on the buses, after a lot of deliberation took the bus drivers job, the most stressful but also the best paid as there's overtime coming out yer ears if you want it, plus it's a job that should be there for a long time.
Anyway best of luck mate, there's work there if you really want it just need to put the effort in to be noticed.
