'Illegal approach,' are we in the clear ?

Sat Jun 18, 2011 12:25 pm

There were lots of comments on here a few days ago suggesting that GJ/Whiteley had left City wide open to action because we approached MM illegally.

Is this still the case ?

or was it mischief making/stirring ?

the only one who is mischief making and stirring is U, yesterday you put up threads about gj and then put the same on ccmb and were taking the piss, people like you are why i left that mb. of course they met Mackay before they got official clearance, you can not believe they met him for the first time Wednesday and then brought him over by plane from his hols on friday and that was his first time   move on and support our club and Mackay and grow up

Oh really ?

Posts destabilising GJ ?? Dig them out and show me ?

Read back what I posted again last night regarding messageboard updates, I suggested that if you are in the know and have information that can be substaniated it is not ALWAYS the best idea to publish it on a forum, particularly if it can have a negative effect on the club. In other words, it is wise to think carefully before things are put into the public domain.

I posted exactly the same thing on both boards to keep things transparent. I believe that it got deleted on here.

You are also a cheeky sod. I am 100% behind MM and CCFC

As it appears Watford allowed him permission to talk and a compensation package was agreed - I would think everything is above board.

Hopefully that is the end of the matter PtB and it was just Daya on a wind up again :ayatollah:

Anybody would think he supported another club or something

Hope so mate.

Just basing that on the furore surround McLeish/Villa & Brum and that everything seems to be good on our front. I think Watford would have been kicking up a stink in the press otherwise.

Hopefully Malky can get on with the job in hand now and we can relax with a few new signings and prepare for this race!

Daya is the only one who went on and on about an illegal approach

Agree. Exciting times. MM looks the real deal. Hopefully he's cut from the same cloth as Ferguson, Moyes, McLleish, Lambert etc etc :ayatollah:

Wind up and Daya just go together.

The fact that Watford have accepted a compensation package nullifies any "illegal approach" action.

Good news :ayatollah:

Let's hope that those determined to discredit GJ give him a break now. We've just got to let him do his job and give him a break.

Exactly.Watford do not believe for one minute that the first time Malky spoke to Cardiff
was the other day. they know full well that we've been in touch, but its par for the course.
Like you say, they've accepted the compo meaning they want to move on and get a new
manager

Alfie - it's simple if Watford did not want to accept compo , then they could have claimed for illegal approach.

They chose the wonga route .

Very simple . But my meeting with a Manager before requesting permission could have led the other way.

Fair enough.

Taking your West Ham hat off and sticking on your Cardiff one for a minute, how do you reckon Malky will do at the City ?

I think you'll find I was amongst those questioning it, bearing in mind the ITK people on here were insisting Malky had had x amount of interviews prior to Cardiff officially requesting permission to speak to him.

Unfortunately, like everything in football, money talks. As Watford have agreed compensation, that will be the end of it. It's not the first time (Brendan "integrity" Rodgers) and it certainly won't be the last. It happens, it's the way football is. Watford are rarely up for court room battles, what's the point? It'd only damage our club further and to what end? There's also no point holding a manager to a contract if he wants to leave that desperately.

I'm annoyed that it was done so publicly. It made a farce of the entire situation and left a fair amount of ill-feeling at Vicarage Road. But that's life. I certainly don't feel the hatred towards Cardiff as I did towards Reading for poaching Rodgers 6 months into his managerial stint at Watford.....

I hope Malky does well for you, I like the man - very entertaining to talk to, and great sense of humour.

Thank you re: Malky

Its just life mate.

Club A would ask never ask Club B publicly for permission to speak to their manager
without first making sure the feller is interested. The bloke says no thanks
and suddenly Club A is a laughing stock.
