Do they pay people to write for the ECHO? Total shite!

I just bought the ECHO to read their article of why Shearer should not get the job.

They said he might end up like Roy Keane.

What? Win the league with a record points total and bring Prem football to Sunderland?

Or like Bryan Robson with Boro? Who also took Boro to the Prem?

Both Keane and Byran Robson were able to get to the Prem and that is the main aim of Cardiff City!

Paul Abbandonato is a strange middle-aged man. The way he talks about Wales makes you cringe with embarrassment. You know he labels some of our players as 'kingpins', such as people like Andy King. "Midfield kingpins." I know King's an excellent young player but for god's sake man he isn't Xavi or Iniesta. Now I'm as much of a Wales supporter as anyone, but he honestly thinks we're world-beaters !

And when he tries to wade in with his arguments in debates about City or the jacks it's obvious he does not have a clue about club football.

I'm not in my early teens anymore.

I don't know as much about football as I used to, but even today I was able to find huge holes in what he was writing.

Keane won the league.

Kept Sunderland in the Prem.

Got sacked the next season.

Is someone said that Shearer would take us up as Champs in his first season, keep you in the Prem for a season, but lose his way in our 2nd season in the Prem and have to be sacked - Wouldn't every Cardiff fan take that if that was on the table? I'd be over the moon!

You can't point to one, two seasons of a managers career in isolation whilst ignoring everything else - using that logic, you could claim DJ was a great manager for the one season he got Wolves promoted...

Shearer has shown no serious desire to manage. Hardly gone the Steve Bruce, Paul Ince route of working in lower leagues, has he?

The article was not about what managers did over the course of there career - The article was about giving high profile players a big job cos they will fail due to having no ex.

The article then when onto give Roy Keane and Bryan Robson as examples of Ex players that have failed.

BOTH ROY KEANE AND BRYAN ROBSON WON THE THIS LEAGUE ON THEIR FISRT ATTEMP! - Is that our current aim? To get out of this league?

How can you defend an article that is poorly written and without any re-search?

Keegan - No ex and built the second best team in the country.

Robson - No ex won this league and go to two finals.

Keane - No ex won the league with record point total and kept them up for a season.

Hoddle - No ex and took Swindon to the Prem.

Ince - Had ex but failed badly and was sacked before Xmas!

If I was you, I'd drop the attitude, to be honest.

Now, in the amazing scenario where your idol was appointed and we went up, I'd be happy. I support Cardiff City, not any particular manager and certainly not any other club as I'm not a plastic.

Would I be happy at a subsequent future of failure? No. Nor would any other fan.

Shearer's reluctance to manage at any real level tends to indicate he wants a "sure thing" role- of which no such thing exists. I'm sure he'll be happy picking up big money for bland platitudes sat on the MOTD sofa.

This was about how shitty and poorly re-searched article in the ECHO.

I'll make the point crystal clear:

THE ECHO STATED THAT KEANE AND ROBSON FAILED.

THEY DID NOT FAIL. BOTH WERE ABLE TO WIN THIS LEAGUE.

And whilst I'm not disagreeing totally, long term, they have been proven failures.

If the ECHO had that opinion that would of been fine.

My main gripe is that they missed the fact that both Keane and Robson were able to do what we hope MM will be able to do.

And I think it's a f*cking joke that a paid writer missed that.
