I wouldnt welcome him back, yes hes a good player but I dont think his attitude will change so time to move on and bring in other strikers

im the other way about that, get him back under contract, bring him back down to earth so he realises he isnt a premiership player until he is in a premiership team and we will soon see him on form.
i fear he had no commitment last term being out of contract etc. even to somebody who loves this club it would be hard to motivate yourself 100% knowing your have a get out clause...

you could be right and if he did come back and mackay brought the best out of him then it would be great for the club

i think dave jones pissed off most of the team last season. and as the manager the buck stops with him and i feel he lost the dressing room along time ago

I would love him back however I still fully expect him to sign for a prem club.

For all his faults (like the rest of us !) Jay is a superb player. Honestly believe that he has a genuine affection for CCFC and, especially, the fans. He has messed up everywhere else he has been. He got his England cap while playing here. Where else is he likely to be as popular, yes popular. And he was, remember the goals he got. QPR ?
Bring him back, give him a contract, and tell him to get his arse in gear. He can carry on twittering, and all the rest of it, but football is his number one job. No late nights in town before big games, even if he is drinking coke. Stay on his feet a bit more.
I would love to see him come back.

Agreed. He won't see the sort of success he had down here anywhere else as long as he plays.

Its not a 'footballing' fault he has. Its a characteristic failing.
He does not possess the drive required to make it to the top.
Bellamy came here and chewed his arse off for weeks, Craig
is a top top player and Jay responded positively. But old habits
die hard. Jay slipped back into his 'cant be arsed' bubble and that
was pretty much that. It dont make him a bad person, or a bad
parent or a bad anything. Malky could probably get the best out
of him a gain for a few weeks, but would it last?? Past history
suggests no. Sad, but true I think

Bothroyd and Earnie would be a superb strike partnership imo. Can't see it happening though, sadly
Thu Jun 16, 2011 3:44 pm
It'll cost us £732,000 to get Bothroyd back for the season based on the £14,000 a week he was asking.
It will be impossible to replace Bothroyd's contribution to our team last season and ability for less than that.
We have to take him back and put some equity back in our squad!!!

why would he come back here? hees waaaaay too good and big for this club...just ask his ego

Interesting point Jason, but I don't think we should look back on this one. Undoubted talent on his day but post-England cap Jay got his head stuck right up his own arse. A career doomed to failure sadly

QPR are favourites. I dont think many clubs have been chasing him. He's probably disappointed that none of the bigger premiership clubs have been chasing him.
