It would've been ludicrous to throw him in at the 'deep end', i.e a crucial promotion bid at the end of the season. He isn't experienced enough and hasn't even played for the first team.

Also, have you seen him before games when he's warming up with Heaton & Marshall sometimes ? He looks poor to be honest !
