I still think that if/when he's offered the job he will take it.

See I think the problem here Annis is Gethin Jenkins may have promised Mackay the job but the Malaysians don't buy into the idea of Mackay and they are pulling the strings. This is where the experienced football man is needed as the middle man so to speak!

Everbody in Malaysia has heared of Shearer which is the ONLY reason I can think of him even being in the frame for the job ....... incompetence yet again from the CCFC hierarchy !!! I mean look at the publicity coz everybody in the Far East watches MOTD and how good would the publicity be if the new CCFC manager was on their weekly football show ? Dunno how Mackay will feel knowing that he was NEVER the 1st choice now .

would mackay still want the job now he knows he wasnt first choice....

it seems hughton and de matteo are being linked with brum, dosnt leave us with many options to be honest.. robins, innes, dont know if we even interviewed lee clarke..

if we are looking for a young ambitious manager then great.. if we are going to offer 1 mil plus for shearer then y not just get martin oneill ...

i really dont think anyone knows who has been offered what,
we dont know Shearer was offered the job, he was just in talks, think people put 2 and 2 together and came up with 5,
the club are doing it the right way and exploring all avenues,
so lets all just be patient and let the club be the first to announce the new manager

All we know is shearer was in talks, it has never mentioned that he was offered the job....he may have just had an interview.....Annis, yours and Carl's sources have been kept in dark regarding recent managerial activity, im sure theres still another twist when the club finally announe the new man :ayatollah:

It seems that the media picked up a betting story and just ran with it.

A number of candidates seem to have been interviewed. Mackay and Shearer are just two of many.

Whoever is appointed will know that there has been a thorough process and they should take that positively.

I agree....wasn't he just having talks/an interview? Exactly the same as the other guys have been doing! Now that it seems that all the candidates have been spoken to, we can probably expect an announcement. And the way things seem to have been going, that announcement will come from the club and not Carl!

Craig, We were told Mackay had the Job, I promise you he was told that.

You have to Admit it is becoming a joke.

IMO its only becoming a joke if the rumours/speculation is taken as fact, ive never doubted either yours/carls sources, but it seems they arent sure on this one issue, im going by what the club say, and thats nothing as of yet.....but, after all the press last night they should either come out and announce new manager or tell press shearer was interviewed and not offered anything. Its very rare clubs get their first choice as manager these days, unless your top six in prem, i think managers know this......Watford fans are insisting theres been no contact with mackay!!! f**k it im going to lock myself away until its announced, my heads banging!!!!!

If this is true, I'd be more concerned what the Football League make of all this. If, as you state, he was offered the job on Saturday and as of yesterday lunchtime the club had still had NO official approach from Cardiff, then surely they are in serious breach of regulations surrounding illegally tapping up Watford's manager?

I've been lurking on here for the past week, it's all been rather strange.

Indeed. Graham Taylor would most certainly not lie to the fans, he would just say nothing at all. So how many interviews will it take before Cardiff approach Watford & ask for permission to speak to him??
