I see Brum are going for Chris Hughton or Di Mateo. There fans say either of these managers will get them back to the Prem.

Also Annis my mate is a Brum fan and said the talk up there is that there going in for Earnie too. I hope not, just be like the last time they were in the Championship where they abused there power to sign anybody decent so then their rivals couldn't. Remember the Marcus Bent saga? :x

I do know that Earnie was in talks with birmingham WHILST mcleish was still manager of birmingham city, now that hes on his way out its seems unlikely they will make a move for earnshaw.

if we enter talks with earnshaw and was fighting against birmingham for his signing, then theres only one place he will come to :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Ah right I see. That's good news at least, and I really hope he comes back home to us. Birmingham nicked enough good players from under the noses of other clubs last time they were in the Championship, about time they had a taste of their own medicine.

Hughton/RDM and Brum are a good fit, strong squad, surprise relegation to an extend, expected to go back up.

Very different job with Cardiff, need a squad building. Maybe Mackay, with Bellamy link, has a better plan for this. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Birmingham would be ideal for CH or RDM. Premier League set-up, just waiting for promotion.

Always thought that the Blues and Villa reserved their venom for each other, and were not too worried about WBA and Wolves.
Correct me if I'm wrong. WBA and Wolves have got their own Black Country derby, which is pretty fierce.

Watford are a team that doesnt make major signings and last season MM did a great job with a limited squad , IMO when Watford had their best 11 players on the pitch the were 1 of the best teams in the Championship ...... squad size let them down for a play off push . Maybe MM with the alleged £20mil budget can do another great job ?

The more i think about MMs potential appointment the more it makes sense to me. Looking at his record, management approach and style of play more closely in the past few days since he was heavily linked I can see exactly why the club would place him as their favourite, as he appears to have exactly the right qualities our club needs at the moment. That coupled with the undoubted passion, and youthful age for a manager I'm pretty excited and I hope he gets it :ayatollah:

i haven't been on the forum that much recently so i've missed a lot. i did hear about the 20mil budget but how much of that will actually be going on buying players? (probably mentioned it before but i have obviously missed it :D )

annis let's be honest, out of the "20million" budget. around 5 million has to go on players. sure we can get 2 or 3 players on free transfers but we also need to spend money to get the quality we need. transfer budget asside... i don't think i can think of anything better than seeing earnie summersaulting infront of 116 next season :D  :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Lewis, Personally I think we need at least 10 New players for next Season, a lot of Quality ones as well. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

quality players who REALLY want to push this club forward, not players who want to come to our club and play to pick up their wages at the end of the week. that's not taking a stab at anyone, but that's what it felt like when i saw us fall apart near the end of the season and during the play offs.
1 or 2 loan players are fine...no more please!

I think the fact that they are in the Europa league will considerably hamper a promotion push

have to agree there, Watford were the best side we played home & away last season, a young side with hunger and desire. MM is my choice he was promoted 3 times as a player from this division so he knows what it takes to get out of the championship.

He also seems to eye a bargain and develop them.He signed Graham for £300k and sold him for £3.5 million

Hughton & Di Matteo inherited squads too good for the championship and only had one season at this level whoever takes over at Birmingham will be expected to take them back up in one season.

spot on mate ! all the bullshit about GJ wanting to be number 1 an sees them as a threat bollux !! imo its good decision by GJ they are not experienced enough ov taking charge of a bare squad an rebuilding it !
