PLEASE LOOK AT THIS......it is the survival promo video for a NON LEAGUE club only 10 miles from Cardiff.

Unless someone comes up with £125,000 in the next couple of weeks the club will cease to be. The supporters already have pledges of £80,000 from a local business man but are desperate for the rest.

Have a look at the video...if you think the club should be saved contact an address you will find on their web site...

Of course cash is wanted, but support from the public is massively important.....the supporters have already been on Radio Cardiff, double page spreads in some newspapers, and had a good coverage / interview on Talk Sport.

Just look at the video and see if you think the club should go to the wall.

Barry Town enjoyed, shall we say, favours from a local councillor (Stringer?) in the past did they not?

Barry Town did what Barry Town wanted for years, shitting all over the WPL.

It all came home to roost. What goes around...

Every club, no matter how big or small, needs the help of the local authority...look at the City....so YES, Stringer did help Barry Town, and did get the Vale of Glam council to aid their success, but so what ? Have Canton and Ely councillors not helped City ?

And they were successful....from a Welsh League club newcomers from exile in England they won the Welsh Cup and continued to dominate non league football in Wales for 10 years.

Barry were the first Welsh non league team to go full time professional. The clubs they beat then are now in ascendancy, many with high profile professionals, and European football, and live weekly TV coverage. Without the Barry Towns and Stringers of the world, the non league clubs in Wales - and there is one near your home that could do with your support now and then - the clubs would probably still in a backwater with nothing to aim for. Many of these are small village teams begging for the likes of Barry Town to come and play them.

PLEASE don't dismiss Barry as past glory hunters with someone elses money ...Chelsea, Man City and others are exactly the same but at a much higher level. Their financial base only disappeared when their benefactor and owner died. Had he lived or his family had continued with his ambition, Barry would probably still be at the top.

Welsh football (AND CARDIFF CITY) needs clubs like Barry Town, Bridgend, Cwmbran to be successful to succeed.

PLEASE HELP BARRY TOWN.

Give them praise for their success please, and support them in their hours of need.

LMFAO.

Stringer helped Barry Town a £394,000 grant to upgrade Jenner Park. Stringer pleaded guilty to four charges of abusing public office by fiddling expenses. Stinger was a councillor and commercial manager of Barry Town at the time the grant was given!

Bro, the drugs seriously don't work. Yes, Barry went professional. Yes, Barry threw money at things without giving a s*** on the impact to the rest of the league. You can worship Stringer all day long, he lost his job for very good reason...

Jenner Park was upgraded

Athletics gained, rugby has gained, local sports has gained , the local community has gained,

and Jenner Park is still there (owned by the council) for the benefit of the people of the Vale of Glamorgan....what is the problem ?

SO you don't, you know, see a conflict of interest between a councillor, employed by the club, being part of a council who errm gave that club a grant,,, especially given the fact that councillor was convicted of 4 counts of expenses fraud with 14 charges left on file?

Gotcha...

Any examples comparable to the degree of the Stringer issues?

Barry bought themselves "glory" in Wales, not giving a f*** about anybody else. Claiming they did everything for the benefit of others, so many Welsh clubs should be grateful to them shows precisely why Barry Town are as popular as a fart in an elevator...

A piece of land worth £24 million was given to the club by the Council!!!!

Gotcha.

So the council make ZERO long term from CCFC or the occupants of the retail park from, you know, business rates, for example?

Land you claim worth £24m which is realistically a meaningless valuation given nothing was happening on that land; there were no proposals to buy the land, develop upon it...

And was the land "given"? Fact? Or do the council hold the land?

Care to point out precisely where a councillor was employed by us who approved the deal?
