Gethin - I know we are a minority on this message board but here's our opinion in a poll!

Agreed but if McKay comp is high it would change my opinion.

Went for CH
Thu Jun 09, 2011 10:14 pm
I Have not had a vote on this as my 2 picks would be Martin O'Neil or Mark Hughes,if you want me to be honest
Both the above to me imo are of a higher standard to the list above...i could add Jose Mourinho to my list
What i will say is...That by the weekend we will get a new name who has not been mentioned before on this forum

On the spot Tony, throw it out there, who do you think that name will be

Its about time the club listen to the fans for a change

I really hope we do get Roberto Di Matteo or Chris Hughton.
I think it would be a bad move for the club to go for someone like Mark Robins as this does not show much intent by the club in terms of moving forward. A quality and proven manager like RDM or CH can take us forward I believe.
Thu Jun 09, 2011 10:37 pm
Hughton for me
Fri Jun 10, 2011 7:01 am
Thanks for the input guys! We'll leave this one run a little longer!
Fri Jun 10, 2011 7:20 am
Why no A N OTHER ?
Fri Jun 10, 2011 7:40 am
Agree with tony. Hughes or oneil would really show ambition. My pick out of the list is Malky, but I wouldn't mind hughton or RDM.
Anyone bar Robins for me. Big backward step with him. Can't say iv thought about clark
Fri Jun 10, 2011 8:34 am
Mark Hughes for me
Fri Jun 10, 2011 8:49 am
In all honesty what has Chris Hughton done besides take a club full of premiership players out of the Championship.
Fri Jun 10, 2011 9:12 am
For me it has to be O'Neill or Hughes, it shows ambition by to club to want to get to the Premier League and stay there. CH and RDM will be good in the Championship, but we have to remember that both struggled in the Prem with their teams, hence why they were sacked.
To show real ambition and intent it has to be O'Neill or Hughes regardless of wages, we will make that more than that money back.

I DONT BELIEVE MARTIN ONEILL AND MARK HUGHES ARE REALISTIC CANDIDATES IMO. WHICH IS WHY I NEVER INCLUDED THEM. I THINK IT'S OBVIOUS THAT MOST IF NOT, ALL CCFC FANS WOULD WANT MON OR HUGHES AS FIRST CHOICE MANAGERS, SO I'VE INCLUDED THE BEST OF THE REST!

I must have missed that news.....ruled out ?

My concern over Hughton is that he inherited a squad at newcastle which was too good for the Championship as was proven.
He has no experience in creating a team from virtually scratch.
City's finishing X1 v Reading will be dramatically different to the one starting in august.
It needs a
new keeper (at last please an experienced and strong character - eg Hanaman)
new left back (no more Naylor and Samuel types - someone quick, decisive and who can tackle)
2 new central midfielders. (no more sluggish and sideways stuff from Mcphail - needs (i) a ball winnner like Derry, and (ii) a box to box runner who can score 10-15 goals like King)
winger as cover for Bellamay who cannot play every game.
2 new forwards.
Looks like central defence should be ok with Hudson & Gerrard but need cover as Gyepes & Keinan have been found out. Blake can be the at last resorts cover.
Plus several decent squad players - not old rejects like Jones brought in.

Danny Says wrote:My concern over Hughton is that he inherited a squad at newcastle which was too good for the Championship as was proven...... HE STILL HAD TO MOTIVATE THEM TO PLAY AND WIN GAMES AFTER ALL THE CRAP THAT WAS GOING ON AT THE CLUB. HE DID THAT!
He has no experience in creating a team from virtually scratch...... YOU'RE RIGHT HE HASN'T BUT HE WAS NUMBER 2 FOR YEARS SO I THINK HE LEARNED THE ROPES THERE.
City's finishing X1 v Reading will be dramatically different to the one starting in august...... I'M GLAD IT WILL BE TO BE HONEST, I DONT WANT TO SEE THAT SHIT AGAIN!
It needs a
new keeper (at last please an experienced and strong character - eg Hanaman)...... I DISAGREE, HEATON IS A CLASS ACT, MARSHALL IS A GOOD BACK-UP AND SANTIAGO IS A GREAT UP AND COMING KEEPER!
new left back (no more Naylor and Samuel types - someone quick, decisive and who can tackle)...... I AGREE WITH YOU ON THAT ONE ALTHOUGH MCNAUGHTON IS CLASS AT THAT POSITION!
2 new central midfielders. (no more sluggish and sideways stuff from Mcphail - needs (i) a ball winnner like Derry, and (ii) a box to box runner who can score 10-15 goals like King)...... AGREE!
winger as cover for Bellamay who cannot play every game...... AGREE!
2 new forwards...... STRONGLY AGREE!
Looks like central defence should be ok with Hudson & Gerrard but need cover as Gyepes & Keinan have been found out...... I HAVE MY DOUBTS ON WHETHER IT WILL BE OK!
Blake can be the at last resorts cover...... BLAKE CAN BE A CRACKING PLAYER!
Plus several decent squad players - not old rejects like Jones brought in..... AGREE!

Tenerife blue - your signature states otherwise??
Fri Jun 10, 2011 6:26 pm
i think the poll gives a great indication on who the fans want
would love di matteo but happy with hughton or mackay
Fri Jun 10, 2011 8:01 pm
Out of the leading candidates chris hughton gets my vote, but my own number one choice would be Glenn hoddle
Fri Jun 10, 2011 8:03 pm
I voted for Malky McKay but I have a feeling that it will be Derek McInnes. Don't know why but I just feel it.

I disagree regarding goalkeeper, as others have said Heaton is a good keeper and Marshall is more than decent back-up. Santiago is shocking. Seen him warming up sometimes before games and he doesn't exactly fill me with confidence !
I also disagree about Keinan. I know he didn't set the world alight against Reading (and maybe Boro home), but those 2 are the only really bad games he's had. I wasn't at Burnley so I can't comment on that one.
Other than that one I agree !
