If this information is to be released surely it should be done by making a statement to the papers or the TV/Radio and/or a statement on the club website. Not by a telephone call to a supporter. Not a professional way to do things in any business not just a football club. In my opinion someone in the club is very unprofessional.

If the club are appointing the manager next week because the candidate is currently abroad this could suggest its either going to be Di Matteo or Mackay. Both of these are apparently away on business/holiday. It is quite conceivable that there are others away on holiday as well but its these two names that I have read are currently away. My guess (and it is purely a guess) is that one these two will be Cardiff City manager by this time next week. There has been very little in the press regarding Di Matteo and he has drifted out to 4th favourite in betting. Mackay is now favourite with one or two of the bookies and his chairman has been in the press warning clubs off him. If I was having a bet today it would be on Mackay.
