I reckon it's Mackay. Someone mentioned that we wouldn't have sold Chopra without the incoming manager's consent and that it is all sorted but final arrangements are just being made regarding other factors... i.e. compensation. I honestly think it will be Mackay but hope it's Hughton.

Mackay is still on holidays, I was told that the club has only spoke to his agent...........?

Id like a Scottish manager except Davies of course, there is something about Scottish manager that command instant respect and I think its the main criteria as a gaffer.

I heard tonight that De Matteo was going to be offered the position but has backed out at the last minute as he is close to a Premier managerial role -Wigan?

I've been following the City since the early 50's - first game I can clearly remember (but not my actual first game I'm sure) was a 1 -9 home defeat by Wolves in, I think, 1954; anyone else old enough who remembers that match? Funnily enough we beat Wolves 2 - 0 away later in the season - funny old game!
Anyway - just thought I'd say, given above quotes, that the best manager we've had IMO while I've been a fan is without doubt Jimmy Scoular - now he did know the game, over 600 League appearances, captain of an F.A. Cup winning side, capped 9 times by Scotland etc and I know from personal experience that he did command the players' respect.
Some good info here, especially the quote from Duncan Edwards:

Nah, f**k him. He scored against Clydebank in a Scottish Cup game two days after my 17th birthday. We were 2 down after 3 minutes lol
