Transfer window opens July 1st

Although there is some activity going on at the moment with out of contract players the actual transfer market opens July 1st until August 31st....I think providing we get a manager sorted by early next week we will have plenty of time to look at out of contract players that are still available and also possible transfer targets.

I would like to say thank you to Burkey and Chops, two players I have enjoyed playing for City but also two frustrating players who tend to go many games un noticed....both provided great moments for me and I thank them for that...

The major difference between the two was commitment and I always felt that Chris Burke tried his best even when having a bad game...whereas I always had a doubt about Chops...in the back of my mind I felt off the field problems affected many of his performances but hey...good luck to all the players who have left...lets not be bitter lads.

Corky agree 100% good performances on times but failed during both run in's. Time for change and a fresh approach both off and on the field.

BUT

The deals are being done now - the players don't technically 'move' clubs (ie their registration doesn't change and they don't train with their new teammates) until July. You can technically buy a player at any time, the window only governs when they can move clubs. Deals are quite often signed up in November/December where players move on 1st January, etc.

There are other rules which govern out of contract players and loans, and pre-contract agreements, but the Henderson to Liverpool move, for instance, or Jones to Man United, won't be officially completed until the beginning of July.

in all fairness this only started this season, i remember some stupid program on ESPN about it

ha ha...I wasn't really sure but the point is we still have a bit of time if we get a manager in within the next few days..its frustrating for us all because we see deals being done but I think a new manager does not always mean new players the same day...even if Jones was here I doubt any signings would have been made...we never seem to be the first out of the blocks..but I am happy to be patient for a while
