" SINCE THE 3 NIL HAMMERING AT HOME TO READING Tuesday MAY 17th "
Should we have Sacked Dave Jones within 24hrs ?
Should we have by now appointed a New manager ?
It is Now June 9th and The Club are now saying it will be Next week the appointment.
Is it better to wait longer ?
Does this show the Club are now more Professional ?

My Opinion Jones should of been Sacked within 24 hrs.
Yes We should by now have appointed a New manager. Chris Hughton or Di Matteo for me
No its not better to wait longer, the quicker the manager is in the better for him,our current players and getting other players in quicker
Personally no it does not, as to me they should know by now instead of dithering.
All main Contenders have been interviewed at least once.
But they are just my opinions as a Fan

The main reason im a little worried is that the yransfer market is very busy yet we are stuck and missin out on quality players.
Jones shoulve gone straight after the reading game
My belief is that the new gaffer will get the players in early and access who he needs
1 gk
1 cb
1 full back
2 cm
2 wingers
2 strikers
That, imo annis, is what we need to mount a decent challenge and all those players need to be hungry for it

I think they played it right, if they had sacked DJ within 24hrs, they would come across as rash and intolerant. I also think they know who the new man is and the new man knows and has given the board a list of targets to work on. Just because its not public, doesnt mean its not sorted! The board said no comings and goings till new man in place, i bet the chopra deal has been given the nod by the new manager!!

Theres no reason why you couldnt be wrong on that one johnwayne
Would be nice if was true but i reckon its true what gj says, early next week
Im goin for an op today, be nice to wake from my coma and have a new gaffer
If your reading this gj, make my day!

im happy to wait,i would rather wait and look at the options than to have made rash decisions that we later regret.and lets be honest we were all shocked after that game and nobody really thought that would be beaten at home
Thu Jun 09, 2011 5:46 am
We should be in the premiership now, whats with the hold up?
Thu Jun 09, 2011 6:10 am
Its a huge worry. Everyday our competitors are tieing up deals and we are missing out. You dont just sort out signings in a day, some need weeks to develop and complete.
All the back room staff need sorting also.
Thu Jun 09, 2011 6:35 am
ANNIS, AGREE ABOUT THE READING GAME. BUT HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN SACKED 24 HRS AFTER THE BLACKPOOL DISASTER.
THINK THE FANS ARE GETTING ANXIOUS ABOUT SEEING ALL THESE OTHER TEAMS SIGNING PLAYERS
Thu Jun 09, 2011 6:36 am
I think the reason that Jones wasnt sacked after the Reading game was the fact bhe was bookies fav for the WHU job and CCFC were hoping he was going to take that job which would have meant a substantial amount of compo money coming into the Club , as soon as it became obvious that Allardyce was going to be appointed Jones was given the boot ! Are CCFC doing the right thing and NOT rushing then yes maybe they are altho a lot of transfers are now starting to go through ....... a lot depends on the budget available to the new manager , maybe the job has been offered and turned down already by somebody ??
Thu Jun 09, 2011 6:37 am
what worries me is there are loads of players out there on a free, and we are missing out
Thu Jun 09, 2011 6:52 am
I agree with many of the posts re the new manager being in place. I totally agree in spending time to identify the new manager but it gets to the point that the lapse in time could potentially damage the forthcoming season as in previous years. If DJ was to be replaced then that could have happened sooner. Likewise it's been another 9/10 days since he has gone.
Just look at the number of players changing clubs at the moment. Many decent players are on the move which we are missing out on. It's not as if we need to find one or two players. We need to find half a squad. The concern is that by the time the manager is in place and has a look at our current squad who will be left to sign? It's great having a fantastic manager but what's the point if they cannot construct a strong squad. Hopefully the sooner that the new manager is appointed the better or we could well struggle to get anywhere near the top of the Division this season. Hopefully that day will be soon.

In my opinion it was a no brainer to send DJ on gardening leave immediately after the Reading defeat he had failed to deliver the primary target for the season, promotion, despite being given the biggest budget in the history of the club and in Bellamy probably the highest profile player to represent the club since John Charles.
The reality is that GJ was giving it all the KTF when the season was starting to fall apart in November - December he should have had the feeling again in March and after lashgate he should have known it was over. The truth is that most any experienced football Chairman / CEO would have been waiting in the wings ready to deal with this we just got the lets have a full review bullshit, and make no mistake thats what is was, and as a result 2 weeks were wasted.
Having wasted 2 weeks we are now told about the different stages of the selection process and that the club is now moving onto the next stage. More bullshit because the reality is GJ was on a plane to Cyprus for 4 days to attend the FL Annual General Meeting it's all a big disappointment for me.
Before you know it the players will have returned for pre season and the club will not be ready and it will affect our preparation for the new season.
Only one person to blame if you ask me and thats our indecisive CEO.

What players have we missed out on?? Please......
Thu Jun 09, 2011 7:02 am
Go onto the Sky transfer centre where they are all listed. Buckley to Brighton, Tyson to Derby, King in talks with Birmingham. Other championship clubs are signing players at the moment. Yesterday the headline was "West Ham re build well under way" they are allegedly trying to sign 5 new players at the moment!

What player has completed a transfer thus far that you would have brought to the club and that we would have had a realistic chance of bringing in?

I think we did right to wait for Jones to resign but we shouldn't have waited so long. We should have given him a 24-48 hour deadline. A small matter though. I think we're playing the managerial search right. They can take as long as they want to make the right decision. Obviously it will be nice to hear something in the next week but we're doing the right thing I reckon. It's a very key decision so we should take time to make sure the right one is made.
Thu Jun 09, 2011 7:06 am
There was something nice and cruel about letting him think he was staying on then BAM. Sacked. Someone at the CCS has a good sense of humour

His contract was terminated, he didn't resign. Also I don't see any players we missed out on hat could have vastly improved our team??? As I said yesterday - hughton and Di Matteo will already be speaking to players.....
Thu Jun 09, 2011 7:36 am
I don't think 24 hours after the Reading game, but a week after at the very latest. We have no mamager, players are leaving and no transfer policy is in place because of this. A new manager would have identified targets and we would at the very least be in talks with players, even if we don't get all our targets. Now we could end up with what is left rather than what any new manager actually wants. Gethin Jenkins says they have had a review of the season but I call it dragging their heels and indecision. It's making us look a joke

For us? How?? They need to be offered the job first, surely? And it looks far from certain where Hughton will actually be next season, so how could he possibly be talking to players?

Interesting
Burke leaves Cardiff and £1m Chopra could follow him out
by Terry Phillips, Western Mail
Jun 9 2011
CHRIS BURKE has completed his switch from Cardiff City to Championship rivals Birmingham City – and Michael Chopra looks to be on his way to Ipswich Town in a £1.5m transfer.
Those departures highlight the need for Bluebirds chairman Dato Chan Tien Ghee and his fellow directors to appoint a new manager as quickly as possible.
If Chopra, Cardiff City’s highest paid player last season, does make his expected switch to Ipswich then a new manager would be left with only two strikers in his squad – Jon Parkin and first year pro Nat Jarvis.
Ipswich boss Paul Jewell tested Cardiff’s resolve with an initial £1m bid for fans’ favourite Chopra.
Cardiff rebuffed that offer, but we understand the two clubs have agreed upon a £1.5m fee.
Cardiff chairman Dato Chan is flying in to join a board meeting this weekend which will decide on a new manager with Chris Hughton (ex-Newcastle United), Roberto Di Matteo (ex-West Brom) and Watford boss Malky Mackay the front-runners.
Chief executive Gethin Jenkins and director Alan Whiteley are heading up Cardiff’s quest for a new manager to replace Dave Jones and they will submit their shortlist after a series of interviews.
The need for a speedy decision is highlighted by Chopra’s talks with Ipswich manager Jewell, who sees the former Newcastle United and Sunderland striker as crucial to his club’s hopes in 2011-12.
Jewell has made it clear his number one priority is a goalscoring forward – and Chopra certainly fits that bill.
While City directors finalise their plans for a new manager, chief executive Jenkins is dealing with squad matters.
Seven loan players, including captain Craig Bellamy, have returned to their parent clubs while Jay Bothroyd, Burke, Adam Matthews and Gavin Rae are all out of contract and are moving on.
Bothroyd wants Premier League football with Everton leading the chase, while Matthews has joined Scottish Premier League giants Celtic.
Rae is wanted by both Aberdeen and League One club Charlton Athletic.
Hungarian defender Gabor Gyepes is another player considering his future.
He fell out of favour under Jones and told Hungarian newspaper Nemzeti Sport: “I prepared for the change, but this is a new situation.
“I am under contract for one more year and I think I will start pre-season training with Cardiff. But, despite the change in manager, I feel it would be good for me to find a new club, maybe in another country.”
Gyepes, aged 29, was signed by manager Jones and is due back at Cardiff City for next season along with fellow central defenders Mark Hudson, Dekel Keinan and Anthony Gerrard, now back from his season-long loan spell at Hull City where he was voted player of the season.
With Kevin McNaughton and Darcy Blake also able to operate at the heart of defence, the Bluebirds may not feel the need to strengthen in that area.
Gyepes is under contract with City until next summer, but was unhappy to be overlooked by Jones, saying: “I didn’t play after March and at the end of the season I was out of the squad.
“After our defeat against Swansea City in November our manager always blamed me for everything.”
The new Cardiff manager will have to move quickly to make decisions on City’s backroom and playing staff.

Not at all.
One of the most high profile examples I can think of was when Chelsea signed Jose Bosingwa, and then weeks later in walked Scolari, ex-Portugal boss.
There's every chance di Matteo & CH will already be looking and thinking where the gaps are in this ccfc and contacting players who fit the bill and saying "look, I'm going for the Cardiff job, y'know, IF I get it, would you be interested in joining me?"
I think it's pretty naive to think that sort of thing doesn't go on in football personally
Thu Jun 09, 2011 7:57 am
Not naive, no. If we had one target as a manager in mind, then fair enough. But interviews are still taking place among several managers and I don't think any of them know who it will be. Scolari was most probabbly the only person in the frame for that job

What's the old saying? - "Marry in Haste Repent at Leisure!" (And I should know!

)
If taking time means we get it right, then I'm happy enough (For now)
Thu Jun 09, 2011 12:24 pm
"Act in haste, repent at your leisure". Let's get this right ... we can't afford to appoint the wrong guy
Thu Jun 09, 2011 12:33 pm
I'm comfortable with how they are doing things. I'd rather they took a week or two to ensure they get who they feel is the right man.
Yes, we may miss out on one or two players, but there are thousands of others we will be able to go after. As it seems the Chopra transfer is nearing completion, that would suggest to me they know who they want in and that they have been consulted on this as it would be madness to sell any player without a manger giving the go ahead - regardless of any accusations made about the player and his previous conduct.
If it was 6 weeks down the line, then yes I would be worried. However for the time being, lets calm down a little.
Thu Jun 09, 2011 12:36 pm
Think we should have sacked DJ straight after the Reading game, like WestHam did to Grant.
We should have appointed a new manager by now too, to get used to the place, players and fans.
We berly have a Squad we need a manager now, to get new players in.
The less time the manager has before the season the more pressure is on him to get the players in.
Why next week?
Saying that they have been saying next week for the last 3 weeks.
Thu Jun 09, 2011 12:52 pm
I agree, we have to get this one right. The City job is a great opportunity for a good manager to take on, & it will be a very interesting next few days!
