" £1.25 Mill "
It looks like Michael Chopra will be Sold for around about that Figure.
Question to everyone
How much will it cost to get a Good Quality Striker for the Championship for Next Season ?
Who is Available ?

Thats the thing, who's available, good enough and how much are they.
I honestly hoped that we would Keep Chopra.

A fresh start for David Nugent perhaps?
And maybe a young Premiership player not quite ready for a Premiership place.
Someone like a Nile Ranger?

We have to keep him.
Only because we will not get anyone better.

Earnie
Wed Jun 08, 2011 8:48 pm
bothroyd cost 400,000 and chopra even less than that, theres players out there to be found on the cheap, perhaps we could employ dave jones as a scout
as for chopra he was my favourite player up til his last injury, so dissappointed in him now and glad to get shot of him

I don't think we will be able to get a stiker of his quality. I think people are massively underrating chops because of his drinking. I think selling him will be a massive mistake.
Positive is it will reduce the wage bill.
Earnie is an option on a free but IMO not in the same class as chops.

adam le fondre from rotheram smashing the goals in for fun last few seasons
earnshaw gotta be worth a pop for free

Bellamys wages if he comes back i think

Annis Chops has been a great forward for us but I'm afaid his time is up. During the run in when was the last time him and Jay scored? We need fresh faces away from the drink & gambling scene.
I wish him and Jay all the best but its time for a clean sweep as the team has proved the last two years it was not up for it.

Diomansi Kamara?? Bellamy??

Earnie and David Nugent are both out of contract and in my opinion would be good replacements, also I've always admired Ricky Lambert at Southampton and would love to see him at City too, £1.25 should just about be enough to get him I reckon.
Wed Jun 08, 2011 8:53 pm
James Beattie, Simon Cox, Earnie, DJ Campbell, Danny Ings......
Who else would you want?
Wed Jun 08, 2011 8:53 pm
Take away Bellers and Parkin and the 3 strikers we bought - Chops, Ross and Jay - were not on anyones radar and then BOOM!
Maybe someone from Noway or there abouts?
All I can say is that I don't want a past his prime striker on big wages.
Maybe -

Simon cox for free sounds good.
We allways seem to be linked to adam le fondre, he seems to know where the net is and deserves a chance.

Culture of the club has to change, we have started by getting rid of a manager that fell short at the final hurdle. Now its time to get rid of the drinking culture at the club and get back to having fit professional players keeping themselves in shape.
Lets face it, chopra is overweight for a footballer of his size. Parkin is a battering ram, chopra gets by on his pace which didnt look too hot last season. Wouldnt be sad to see him go but if the new manager thinks hes worth keeping so be it.
1.25m in the coffers and 20k a week back in the wage budget though? got to consider that
Wed Jun 08, 2011 9:05 pm
They should get 3 players around £400,000 each and then whatever is left over I should have.

Good riddance is my view. He will self destruct at Ipswich as well. His gambling and drinking is getting worse and Ipswich aint no where near Newcastle

AGREE WITH THIS
And Simon Cox
I'd even have Keogh as backup again, but I'd prefer a young striker keen to prove himself.

hopefully wont cost us anything if we can get earnie!! if we can sell chopra for 1.25 million & get earnie in on a free then that will be a hell of a result!!
Annis do you know if earnie would be willing to come back ??????????????????????

Agreed Steve

I agree it's probably time for him to go, which is sad. However I think we should still be looking for over £2 million. He will score goals if he gets the chance.
Wed Jun 08, 2011 9:13 pm
I think we should wait until a new manager comes in, and whether Chops would fit into his plans and that he could work under the new manager and get totally fit again. The only thing that worries me are Chops wages though.

He also wants to go though Chief. So get shot i say. Only a guess here but it did show he didnt want to play for us last season didn't he. It was a shame he robbed us of his wages whilst pissing it up before games. tw*t

1) Bothroyd was 300k iirc
2) Chopra was 500k, and then 4m
