Stay well away from BG, rip off... Go for a Valliant mate, if you can't get a worchester. Thier good, my second choice to install...

Bought a Ferroli Optimax HE Plus 38c off a company on the internet for £700.00 with a 5 yr guarantee and its a band 'A' condensing combi boiler. Priced it up locally £1100. Then got a plumber to fit it and take the old one down for £300.00 total cost a grand and with the cold winter we had it was only run on 70% of its capacity. Its a cracking boiler.

Out of interest, were you told that parts for the Ferroli were getting difficult to obtain & replace?

I had a worcester at my flat it conked out in less than 3 years, moved to my new house which had a feroli and it's been fine, kept the flat on and eventually replaced the worcester with a feroli, cheap but does the job.

I have a Ferroli combi and the only thing that has gone wrong with it in 12 yrs is the flow switches for the central heating and the hot water.Dont worry as the flow switches are identical for central heating and hot water and are easy to change and cost about £7. I have changed a total of 4 over the past 12 yrs and thats the only parts that I have replaced. So yes they are reliable boiler and cheap to run.

Mate I am an apprentice with British gas, the best advice I can give you is to get a vaillant. Quiet, very economical, and reliable. Do not get a Worcester, pain in the arse! :D :ayatollah:

Mate im a gas engineer if its a optimax he c1 c get a refund the usual optimax breaks down about 10 times a year worst i seen was 20 ud end up spending an extra 5000 if its like the others go for a glow worm flexicom relly good on co2 emmisions so lesser gas bill and very relyable.
