Paying for the Privilege to play for Cardiff CityLast season, it has been said that we didnt have any players with any passion to progress with the club, apart from Craig Bellamy, Kevin Mcnaughton and Mark Hudson and possibly one or two others. We brought loan players in, who didnt give a crap about our club, who went out on the piss before the game and brought our club and their fellow players into disrespute.
To make matters worse, we sent one of our players, who was contracted to us to Hull, and put in the most consistent performances of their season, if only we had few other players of gerrard calibre in our team this season, we would have had a different outcome to the season, guess its pointless dwelling in the past now.
However, we can only learn from our mistakes from the past and rectify them.....just read an interesting article regarding the Scotish league in the second division regarding a club called Stirling Albion, this is where "players who paid £200 each to earn the opportunity to prove they are good enough to win a professional contract with Stirling Albion". I believe this is an excellent initaitve, because these players would be hungry to succeed, and an incentive to progress their careers within the footballing industry.
If a team in the second division of Scotish premier league can attract so many trialists, imagine how many Cardiff can attract. It is time to start using new ideas....trialists who want to succeed will put 110% in their training and performance to succeed,
I believe this is an opportunity which Cardiff City can exploit, and invite all players from the UK for a trial with Cardiff City to win a contract with our club. You never know, we might unearth a gem where other clubs didnt even know of that particular player. Even with the backing of Malaysians, we should not spend so much money and make the most of the savings from buying players, the money generated from this could benefit our football academy for future development.
I really do believe in the youth, as they are hungry to succeed, however this is my opinion, whats your thoughts on this people?
