Newcastle Utd fans on Hughton:
"Cardiff would be a good place for him to go. Might want to sort the dressing room out though, was apparently a bit soft when he managed us. Didn't the Cardiff players all go out on the lash not long before the 3-0 home defeat against the mighty smoggies
Would love to see him back at SJP some day in the away dugout."

"A bit soft but it brought the best out of hard to manage players like Barton and Carroll on the pitch! Just right! He's not a fool and the players know that! We had an amazing team spirit under Hughton and I think he could do a job anywhere!"

I want Hughton here. But I just remembered, wasn't Hughton in charge last season when Kevin Nolan and Andy Carroll went out and there was cocaine found in the house along with prostitutes etc.? It was all over the papers...

"First of all this is not a knee jerk reaction, it is an oppinion that has grown over the last 18 months. Its an oppinion that has come due to many disaterous decisions, luckily in the Championship its a lot easier to rescue bad games than here in the Prem. Is Hughton the victim of a idiotic owner or merely riding on the back of a potentially great striker. Theres no doubt that Carroll is a very special player, a player who'll win you games virtually on his own as he did against Arsenal, Villa and to some extent Sunderland.
After masterminding some astonishing performances how can Hughton make so many tactical and selection c*** ups in the last 3 games? 5-1 away to Bolton is beyond a disgrace even with the players we had missing, at no time did the manager ever look to replace players who were performing poorly. Yet he took off a player who in my oppinion had a half decent game and was unlucky not to score - Shola Ameobi and leaves on Jose, Jonas and Colo. No excuses, Hughton picks the XI, its Hughton whose job relys on those players he's putting this trust in.
Against Blackburn, Hughton was totally out thought by Allardyce. It showed that he's tactically naive, he's got no plan B or even an alternative to humping the ball to Carroll & Ameobi when we can't pass it through teams.
Against Fulham we saw yet again Hughton's negative tactics with his selection of Guthrie wide right. In the game it became blisteringly obvious that Fulham were exposing Guthrie's habit of tucking in next to the central midfielders, yet Hughton did nothing to correct this at any time until he brought Routledge on.
Blackpool, Stoke and Wigan were all v2ery similar to the last 3 games and again showed Hughton to be tactically naive and unadventurous with his substitutions."

"two problems he must sort out are the increasing lack of discipline, post arsenal. barton first and now colocinni, who was a disgrace today, totally pathetic. didn't really see what williamson had done but people are here seem to think he was lucky. and then the over playing in defence, especially at left back, which lead to the first two goals today, and the first against blackburn."

"I agree with the general mood that Hughton isn't a good manager and is being carried by our squad BUT i have a lot of respect for him. He doesn't want to do it but hes sticking at it and really keeping the club moving at times. I pray for the day a proper manager is put in place (not Shearer) So we can get back to business but till then I'll support Chris for sticking at it and not jumping ship. Even if its not for his managerial skills this club owes a fair amount to Chris Hughton for keeping the club moving while The men above sell half his squad and destroy our football club."

"you need to get your facts right mate!

that one above makes me laugh!
chopper23: its is ashleys and houghtons fault because there both s***
muzzi - Hughton is s***
Hughton aint got a bloody clue
Nah, no one called for hughton to be sacked
ive only scanned parts of the forum and thread from nottighah forest game and i find all that and more"

"The key to a good manager, is when things start to go wrong, he can have the tactical awareness to make changes and affect the games.
Yesterday we were 1 down, and he waited too long to get a sub on, Harewood should of been off a lot earlier, the tactics were clearly not working i.e. hoof it up and hope, I could see that, everyone in the crowd could, but he didnt change anything about the style of play and just replaced like for like.
in my opinion we have only played really well against Ipswich and Reading this season. Other than that we have been VERY VERY avergae, and have been lucky to get what we have. Plymouth with better finishing wluld have beaten us or got a draw, they had plenty of chances, Palace was ok for 20 minutes then it was lacklusre, Sheffied Wednesday, Leicester all came and gave us a game and we won but hardly looked convincing.
And now the last 3 games, granted against Bristol City we were very unlucky not to win, but we are starting to get found out, and Hughton has a Plan A but when that goes wrong he hasnt got a clue. Hoof it up to Harewood and Carroll is not the answer when your losing 1-0.
The standard in this league is poorer than i thought, and thats why we're still top, we need to sort it out now though because as things stand we/re in trouble. We might be 2nd at the moment, lets not forgest we're only in the first few games still, but all 2nd does is paper over the cracks.
Im going out on a limb here and saying if Hughton is herer the whole season we wont finish in the top 6. I really do believe that.
Hughton deserves some credit for sticking with the club during everything, but he's basically Ashleys puppet.
I dont like criticising our own fans, but if anyone should have a word with themselves, its you lot who are supporting the appointment of Hughton and saying how amazing we are and its only one game. Those of you who have seen every game will know, or should, that we havent been that good. And if anything, its fan like you blindly supporting the fool that will keep us in this league."

No comments on this?

a good read actually BBM.
the negative comments seem to have come at the beginning of his tenure, so i'll read into that as his learning curve. you've obviously scoured the newcastle's message boards, and apart from the odd 1 or 2, looking for the more negative views from them. Can't you balance them out by putting more recent posts on here, as i'm sure they would be a tad more optimistic.
you're obviously not a fan of Hughton i take it

I'm waiting for them to accept me on their board.
When they do I'll ask these questions:
* What is he like in the transfer market?
* Does he have a plan B is things are not working?
There is a lot of love for Hughton on the NUFC boards, but they did say he was prone to a number of mistakes.
The HL the morale within the team during his time as manager - But some credit Joey Barton and Kevin Nolan for that.

The first two posts were pretty new.
Hence one fan is talking about Cardiff.

Wasn't Carroll "billetted" with Nolan under bail conditions. One player I would not want in my house!
