I remember seeing him play at Merthyr in a Pre-Season Friendly. I remembered saying that we have the next Robin Friday on the pitch.
There is not a City Supporter who would not have Robin Friday back in the side if he were alive today - and I think we need to offer Leon that opportunity.
After hearing Leon's difficulties all those years ago I was somewhat surprised that he is still alive and it is a tremendous credit to him that he has not only turned his life around but also reached a standard where he is being considered as fit enough to play alongside Craig Bellamy. That, to me, speaks volumes.
Its a big Well Done from me and a big welcome should the club choose to offer him a contract

Leon has worked incredibly hard to get fully fit and is confident that if he can get a full pre-season under his belt he will be able to play championship football this season.
However, over the weekend Leon turned out for the Cardiff City Legends team in a charity game. Admittedly the opposition wasnt the best, and the game was not full pelt but some of the tricks Leon pulled out of the bag defied belief. At one point he nutmegged his marker 3 times in the space of 10 seconds which earned the cheers of the crowd before flicking the ball up and volleying an inch perfect ball to Paul Giles on the opposite side of the pitch. After the game Roger Gibbins (who now works in the hospitality area for City) approached Leon and told him it would be a shame if he signed for Brighton as he could still do a job for City. Leon is of course a huge City fan, he still attends games now, and he has always been gutted at the way his career ended here before. Roger told Leon that if he fancied doing pre -season with us he would speak to the club and see if something could be sorted out. Obviously, with no manager currently in place this is difficult but it is certainly a termpting prospect for Leon to finally right some wrongs for his home town club.
So the big question is, if Leon Jeanne came through pre season and was offered a contract, would you welcome him back?
