A STATEMENT FROM PETER RIDSDALE
ACTING CHAIRMAN AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE, PLYMOUTH ARGYLE FOOTBALL CLUB
Following the Administrators' announcement with regard to a preferred bidder for the assets of Plymouth Argyle Football Club, it has become clear that the acquirers property expertise and focus could conflict with the demands of ensuring that the football club could complete all the work necessary to fulfil the requirements of the Football League.
The preferred bidder has therefore asked Peter Ridsdale to consider buying the football club out from the property interests and thereby ensuring that with his football experience he will be able to bring about the return of the Football League share at the earliest possible opportunity. As a part of this transaction the football club will have a long lease ensuring security of tenure for Home Park and stability for the long term.
Peter Ridsdale said: "This is not a transaction that I sought or contemplated but, if it is the only route to guarantee a future for Plymouth Argyle Football Club, it is a route that I am prepared to take.
"In recognising the importance of this football club to its supporters and the community at large, I will take immediate steps to meet with all stakeholders to discuss the way forward.
"There is still much work to be done to even make this structure work and I will be spending all my time and energy to ensure a successful outcome."

He has done a lot of good work for them to be fair. A lot of unpaid stuff. However he had a good start with us and looked how it ended up.

Unpaid

Interesting how he was a "consultant", handheld them through admin - getting an admin appointed who he just happened to know - and has now been annointed "chairman" by the preferred bidder...
it well and good saying Ridsdale did good work, the fact remains he did the legwork for going through admin. They were f***ed regardless. You could indeed query if he did enough to save them, bearing in mind the good luck and fortune that has led him to become chairman...

Peter Reid's done brilliantly for them, sold some of his past medals etc to fund certain things within the club. would be sad if all his good work was undone by someone like Ridsdale
