are the government cutting 42,000 armed forces jobs...they do realise we need an army to defend the country right?

Do you think we really need an army to defend OUR country? The way it's going, we need an army to fight a war in other people's countries.

That doesn't make the cuts right, though. Disgusting, in fact

i agree but the army is over stretched as it is..and police jobs are going..f*cking hell cameron is useless, messing around with the NHS, blocked proposed plans by labour to build brand new schools over wales and england which would've improved education...oh boy.

Any government that succeeded Labour would have had to do the same thing. Cuts are needed to save this mess of an economy that we've developed over the past 20 years.

I'm not saying that these cuts are right, but it's something that we all need to man up to.

As Notage already pointed out, we're not defending our country and we wont need to, hopefully, in the forseable future. Cutting jobs here could save money for other departments such as education or even reduce cuts on the NHS.

Cuts were nessecary but not as quick and substantial as the tories have done..... But then again did you really expect any different???

There is another way. Just pull the army out of Afghanistan (are we still in Iraq?) and all other areas where we don't really need to be, scrap any planned cuts to the armed forces and concentrate the money we're ploughing into the wars that aren't ours and into the areas in our own country that really need them

Agree mate. I don't think people have an issue with the cuts as such, just the ferocity and the groups that are being targeted. I'm sure if the Tories themselves had to suffer from the cuts then they'd be doing it a lot slower.
