...if we don't go up...
The three teams who are going down this year will be much weaker in August than they are now. I can see West Ham doing a Portsmouth, and like the other teams, will lose their best players. In West Ham's case they are selling 8 international players, and a huge number of key players are out of contract. Blackpool will be without, in my opinion, their key players like Charlie Adam or David Vaughan. Wigan will lose N'Zogbia, Rodellega, Watson and a few other players. And Brum will lose Roger Johnson, Stephen Carr, Zigic and a few other key players. Same with any other team that would be going down. I reckon they would be mid-table sides like Burnley, Portsmouth and Hull were this season. So even if we didn't get promoted this season, it would'nt be the end of the world. With a new manager and a few new players we would be challenging for the autos again.
Thoughts on what would happen next season?

If we dont go up we would have blown a great chance of doing so.
Those teams coming down will be alot stronger than most of the teams in this league now even if they do lose there best players. Some will lose some players but I doubt it will be a wipe out like Portsmouth or Hull this season who had ot get rid due ot finance reasons.

i see where your coming from and i agree to a certain degree but in west hams case, they will lose parker who is quality, upson who in my opinion is shit and green who is shit.
but if they're starting line up included a few new signings along with demba ba or piqiuonne(can't spell it lol ) stanislas, davenport, gabbidon, faubert, ilunga, noble etc etc it's clear they will be at least play off contenders especially when they haven't had a full clear out and the players have played with eachother for a few seasons.
wigan would crumble i think.
blackpool will struggle also, we seem to forget teams like leicester who will be adding big names to the squad next season, boro who have a good starting 11 but they may be having a clear out because they are having a HUGE cut on wages.
the teams who are coming up i can't see doing much damage, brighton may suprise but can't see any of them getting play offs.
overall i think the oposition won't be much harder but i wouldn't get your hopes up about the teams coming down having massive clear outs. they will still have good quality.

Demba Ba's getting sold I think, Davenport is at some non-league side

and a lot of the top players are gona get sold imo.
Yeah agree about Leicester, they will challenge for auto next season.

Can't agree with that Ian, with the exception of Birmingham who I believe will stay up anyway, none of the teams (Wet Sham, Wigwam, Blackpool, Wolves) would maintain the squad strength they currently have and certainly would not be stronger than QPR, Norwich, Forest, us, Leicester et al. Just what I think of course but I can't see how they'd maintain it.

with the youngsters west ham have, they are still quality and they will try strengthening their squad especially when they will get 20million maybe?
upson, green, cole, parker etc sold.
wigan i think will lose a few good players and it isn't an attractive team for new players so i think they will struggle, wolves or brum will definately not lose loads of players, of course a few good players will leave but will still be strong.

sorry to be miserable, but if we dont go up this year then i think we willbe fucked
all loans go back
possibly lose chops, whitts, jay.
rae, mcphail posibly retire.
fund a new manager posibly backrrom staff....
plus the small matter of langston still un paid i believe.....
alot of money to fund a whole new squad, and the malaysians dont throw money around like confetti.
BUT THIS IS THE MOST IRELAVANT SHITE POST EVER COS WERE CARDIFF CITY AND WERE GOING UP

i know where your coming from but i think personally whether we go up or down...chops and whitts have to go, jay is debateable.
i love chops but with some of the problems we've had such as going out and getting smashed isn't proffessional especially when we are so close to going up. i think a clear out is needed and we need to bring in some quality.
what backroom staff would leave?
if DJ goes i'm sure we would bring in a proven manager.
